I just tried it again and it gets to 1% and hangs there. It say's the download speed is 323kb's. per second and should take 1.5 minutes. After 10 minutes it's still at 1%. I checked and cleaned out my registry to now avail.

Is there a problem with the servers? Everytime I try to upgrade to the newest locked down version. The download speed is awful. You'd think I was trying to download with a 14400 modem instead of a highspeed dsl modem.

Mach3 under Vista / Re: Which version of Vista ...?
« on: October 22, 2008, 09:12:38 AM »
Mach 3 is only ported (designed) to work with one processor. Therefore, it doesn't recognize any others regardless of how many there are.
The reason that I like using it, is that all of my other required system services files can and will be assigned by the BIOS to the other processors. In the beginning this was just an assumption on my part. It was after working with an Escalating Engineer at Microsoft on another problem, that the subject of CPU Utilization was broached. At this time I was informed that Vista was ported to multiple CPU systems to off load system service files to secondary processors. This is the reason that Multi-tasking is now possible whereas before with XP and previous versions it was implied but generaly not possible. At least not with the thought for speed of any kind. Personally I wouldn't run Vista on anything less than a Quad-core sysytem with a minimum  of 4gb's. of memory.

I'm running Vista Home Premium Edition on a Dell Quad-Core @ 2.g GHZ with 4G's. of memory without the slightest problem.

The name of the gear creation software is Involute and Cycloidal
Gear-Wheel GCode Generator. There is no demo, though it can be purchased at http://www.realhamradio.com/gearbuynow.htm for $49.99.

The program in question provides no option to change or modify the post processor. I was hoping that there was an option in Mach3 to allow nested comments.

Is there a way to get Mach3 to work with Nested Comments in a g-code file? I have found a great little program for creating gears and it lists nested comments in the .nc file that it creates. Mach3 sees these comments as errors. Therefore I have to spend a considerable amount of time deleting these comments. I've enclosed an attachment of an 8 tooth clock pinion as an example.

Try checking out your hard drive and system with a registry checker, such as PCTools Registry Mechanic. I had to use it to get my Toshiba Satellite Pro to run Mach3 without crashing.

Does anyone know of a post processor that will work with .bnc files. I'm using a program called Bitmap2CNC and it creates great .stl files for use with programs like Cut3D, but whilst it does save files with their own Mach3 post processor. It doesn't create any Z axis co-ordinates.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Version 2.4.2
« on: August 23, 2007, 06:23:29 PM »
I need to apologize Brian, it wasn't the plasma.set file that was the problem or the version 2.4.2 upgrade. When I upgraded I didn't notice  that it over wrote my display file with the standard .set viewer file. It turns out that the the Simple 3 axis Screen file that I mistook for the plasma file was over written. Sorry for any inconvienence.
