General Mach Discussion / Version 2.4.2
« on: August 22, 2007, 03:04:13 AM »
Art, I downloaded the latest version 2.4.2 as an update and there seems to be a bug. Whenever I try to change the screen set from the standard version to the plasma screen set. The program momentarily hangs up, then nothing. It stays the same. I've tried all of the other screen sets to see if is just the plasma set to no avail. The reason I like the plasma screen on my mill is because of the large tool path display. It's easier on the eyes for those of us with poor eyesight.

General Mach Discussion / Duo Core Processors
« on: August 03, 2007, 10:54:32 AM »
For anyone else thinking of using a duo core processor driven computer computer. Regardless as to whether it be an Intel or AMD product. Be aware that you have to use WINDOWS XP Professional with Service Pack 2 and not Windows XP at Home. The At Home version is not capable of using both processors and the floating point unit of the the processor will only function at half speed.

General Mach Discussion / 3D Scanner
« on: August 02, 2007, 04:58:15 AM »
Is anyone here familiar with these 3D scanner's listed at this site www.interinar.com, and whether or not it could be integrated into Mach3 or another listed at www.david-laserscanner.com. I figure these type of scanner's would be quicker and cheaper to use rather than using a probe.

General Mach Discussion / Drivers
« on: August 02, 2007, 04:18:13 AM »
Does anyone have a listing for a bi-level driver that'll work with Mach3?
I understand that cards of this design are more stable and aren't effected by the interference issues that affect chopper style driver cards. I need a driver that can be hooked up to 8 wire Nema 34 steppers that if wired in parallel require 3.05 volts per phase.

General Mach Discussion / Driver Cards
« on: July 30, 2007, 01:52:52 AM »
A bit late to ask, but since I've already purchased it. I need to know what is a L/R Driver Card and what are it's shortcomings. Also what type of power supply would one use with such a card. I've studied the power supply construction manuals on Bob Campbell's website and even went as far as purchasing a hard copy from HubbardCNC.com. The problem I'm having now is that I find that they are all designed to work with a chopper style card. Also the card in question uses Unipolar Steppers.
