General Mach Discussion / event driven serial control and modbus
« on: June 11, 2007, 08:43:11 AM »
Hello,
I need to use both modbus and event driven serial control (port & pins config)
However if i switch on the serial function, the modbus is disabled, even tough there ports are set up different.
Is this normal? (then i have a problem) or has it never been detected. i'm using Mach 3 version 2.0.0.17
anyone?

Kris.

Hello Bertho,

Did you have any succes on using analog inputs for jogging (i.e.: analog joystick connected via modbus)
I'm facing the same problem.

Thank you,
Kris.

General Mach Discussion / G100 servo and stepper
« on: May 04, 2007, 12:14:49 PM »
Hello,
question about the G100 with mach3.
can i use for example 4 servo-motors and one stepper with this g-rex board?
thanks,
Kris.

Hello,
If you say you've had numerous problems with your THC, then there's also the possibility that you have grounding problems, or maybe some interfacing problems. maybe a voltage issue?

Hello,
If it was working fine a week ago, then the signals will probably not be mixed.
Did you change the computer or installed or upgraded to a new mach version or something?
are you using a breakout-board that's optically isolated?
If none of the above, i think there might be something wrong with the THC itself.
Can you contact it's maker?
Good luck,
Kris.

Hello,
Hope i'm not boring you with thisone, but could it probably be that the up/down signals are inverted and-or switched?
I'm not really shure about THC sequence, because i've no experience with it (but similar capacitive height control on laser machining), but this is what i think.
As long as your tHC-unit does not report stable arc with THC on signal, your height control is inactiv. If this signal goes active, THC is enabled. If your thc-signals are crossed, and the active state is inverted(input signals tab, 'active low' setting enabled or disabled), then your system might correctly detect sheet contact, but the control would do the opposite of what is needed.
Hope this helps...
Kris.

General Mach Discussion / Re: dual processor
« on: August 17, 2006, 03:19:05 AM »
Hello,
thanks for the replies.
I'm gonna build a new system, specifically for Mach.
Since AMD has dropped its prices on the X2 athlon series, i was wondering if i should put in one of those?
I'm gonna have to decide in 2 weeks.
I've read some posts about dual processor systems but this where mostly older PIII systems.
I do have some budget, but to buy both types of processors would be a shame.
So if knowone convinces me otherwise I'm gonna stick to the single core.
It is just for future developments of Mach or other operating systems that I'm thinking about this, but it's probably a bit to soon.
(The machine it is driving however will gonna have to work for some years)

Greetz,
Kris.

Hello,

Has anyone tested Mach on a dual processor system ?  ???
How did or will it work out?

Kris.

Ok, thank you
I was guessing it would be that way
