General Mach Discussion / Re: Simple drive controller circuit

Good recommendation,

another combination of that is the l297 & l6203 chip. Do a search on google for those two and you should come up with some circuits.
here is a good one, http://www.majosoft.com/engraving/html/stepper_driver_board_with_l297_and_L6203.html ,

I have built one and I used the application notes from ST to create the circuit. Go to their web site and look at their app notes section for these
two chips.

Arnie

Thankyou Arnie, I´ll take a look. ;)

There is a working example in the .pdf document using the L298. It's a reasonably common IC and inexpensive and good for 2A 80V. I used it on a scale model for RND extensively and has good switching characteristics. If you need more help, let me know!

Yep, the giraffe is kinda shy! :D

Whacko
OK Wacko, I´m going to re-check it.

Whacko for real

Hey Whacko, many thanks for your idea, I´ll be studying how to get it through, since I´m not very good designing circuits.

Hi, everyone. Does anybody know where to get a simple motor drive controller circuit, that works with Mach3 that I can build, to run a little 3 axis router through a PC, 4 step motors, 1.1 amp., 4.1 volts., microstep ?

        Thanks   Jovimon

OK Jovimon, That helps a lot. A picture is worth a thousand words. THe problem is this, your not seeing all of your screen. Go to general config and check the box Auto Screen Enlarge, Its down at the bottom, center right. You may have to exit mach and re-open for this to take effect. You may need to play with other settings in Screen control, I don't think so though. Give it a go and let us know. If, when you open general cofig. the bottom it it is missing too, grap it at the top and slide it up so you can get to Screen control.

Brett

Thank you Brett. ! finally I could get it ! . Thank you for your patience

I Checked your "precisionchaos" web page, I see you do a great job.

Thanks Jovimon,
Watch the welcome tutor, will help with attachments.

I have inserted a screen shot of the button you are looking for. If this button is now where on your screens, you might want to back up your XML and any screensets or grabber profiles you have, uninstall Mach, delete the mach3 folder on your c drive, download and reinatall Mach again.

Brett

I uninstalled Mach and followed all your instructions you suggested, but no change at all. Here I'm including the screenshot in word (doc) of what I'm getting on screen (no Reset Buttom). Shoudl I check the XP optimisation instructions ?.

I have sent you an email, so you can just reply to it with the screenshot attached.
Hood

Ok, I already did it to the engineering address. Sorry

Can you post a screenshot here so we can look. Sounds like you may be missing some of the bitmaps or the screen set you have is corrupt, you could try installing mach again to see if that clears it up.
Hood

I sent the screenshot to the engineering address.

I reloaded the software again from (Mach3 R2.4.0 (Click Here)  -->  (Release LockDown), and I got the same thing (No Reset Buttom anywhere). May be I’m downloading the wrong version?

Sorry, I couldn't get it through this way, may be if you submit an e-mail to send you the print screen.

Any way I'm going to reload the program.

Sounds like you dont have the axis enabled in Ports and Pins. Even if you dont have motors connected you need to enable the axis you want to use as simulation.
Reset button is lower left on most pages, if its flashing then you will have to go into ports and pins, Inputs and change the active low setting for the E Stop

Hood

I see the Reset Buttom just in the manual, but not anywhere in the software at any page. May be I should reload the software?
