I was thinking that the error could be due to the probe. My Wildhorse probe has a very stiff spring. It appears that the stiffness varies depending on the angle to the 3 axis of the probe. The stiffness appears to be strong enough to cause the probe shaft to deflect slightly. I never actually measured it though.

If you rotate the probe 90 degrees, does that change your results?

You can set Soft Limits for the Z- Limit and all other limits. With Soft Limits, the machine will stop movement at the limits; instead of erroring when the limit switches are tripped.

But, I think that you still have something wrong with your settings. Probing should not cause the limit to trip.

It should work regardless of whether the axis home and limit are the same switch / pins.

I am not sure what is causing your error; however, Mach 4 is not the problem with using home and limits on the same pin. There must be something else wrong with your settings.

I have an AVID CNC that came with Mach3 and its home and limit switches are the same switch for each axis. I upgraded it to Mach4; and, I never had a problem like this.

Watch this video to on how to turn on soft limits with homing. I believe that most machine setups require it to be homed before soft limits can work.

Another option that works well with Mach4 is a ShuttlePro v2.

Glad that I can help.

If you are using VCarve Pro as one of your other posts stated, there is a gadget called "CSV to 2D Vectors". Works Great for me. Edit the m402 macro to output a .csv file instead of .txt.

It depends on what kind of item you choose to put the image on. For example if you choose a toggle button, you can set the image properties for "Image Up" or "Image Dn". For the Image item, you can set different images for only the Image Property. For other items such as Group Container or Tabs, you can add an image to "Bg Image".

See this video on how to add images to Mach4: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1xZkFgS5cQ

Then you can call the image as per Chaoticone's directions. eg: scr.SetProperty("Label", "Image", "0.png")
