General Mach Discussion / Re: Lost License When Upgrading
« on: October 29, 2008, 10:10:29 AM »
Scottn,
Great to have such wonderful support, you and Artsoft have been wonderful!
I haven't lost my license yet(and hope I never do), but it is a comfort to know if all of my
saved copies of it disappear, or I need help with anything else concerning Mach3, you will be there to help out!

I for one appreciate YOU! :)

     Thanks, Glenn

    ( hey Greg J- glad it's sorted out! )

Great story,

Show us the video.  You did think ahead to video such an act of selflessness didn't ya?  ::)
Oh well, it probably would have fried the camera too!
Thanks for cheering us up on a cold wet Saturday.

  Cheers, Glenn

LazyCam (Beta) / Re: Pocket Parameters
« on: October 23, 2008, 05:05:36 PM »
Hi Al...
I'm no expert, just playing with lazycam too, but I think the " step"  refers to how far over your mill end
or router bit shifts over for the second lap around the object you are cutting, if it is step 25% of a 1 inch bit, then after
2 laps, the cut would be 1.75"wide.  the first cut 1", and the second cut 1 inch but it overlaps the first cut by 25%, so only 75% new material would be cut out of it.

              Hope this helps!
                      Glenn

Oh yea, I couldn't get anything to change when the overhang parameter box was filled in with different %'s ???

Kent,

Beautiful work!  But you can't slip anything past Tweakies eye! ;D

   Keep up the great work!

Feature Requests / cut and paste, drag and paste in lazycam
« on: October 21, 2008, 07:04:54 PM »
Hi All,
Could LazyCam  retrieve , cut and paste,  my collection of saved objects in LC, all at once , or whichever objects I
choose to create a new sign or sculpture? Or can I already do this,  short of editing the g-code in mach?
  Thanks, Glenn

Rich,
Great work! Does this rotary go on a sherline mill, or retro fit
to your router table for 4th axis usage?

All junk is GOOD ;D  Glenn

General Mach Discussion / Re: Rapid not working during jogging

Hi Chris,
You have probably already looked here, but see what your motor tuning is under config, motor tuning, to see just what the max is
on each motor.
When you run a part, does  a G0 command make your motors run very fast?

Hello All,
I work in a grocery store -31 years-  by day :( (Boring, but a paycheck!), and do woodworking on a metal
lathe with the Great Mach 3, and recently built a 26"x48" cnc router from an old grocery store shelf frame
bolted together with angle iron for bearing guides. Ugly but cheap. Hope to build another with better components for more
accuracy.
I've gotten great help here setting up the computer, breakout board, stepper motors and g-code; you guys are the greatest,
enjoy this forum because of the funny and smart charactors who frequent these pages!

Keep up the great work! Glenn

Tangent Corner / Re: Speed related issue - Rutex?
« on: September 21, 2008, 12:07:35 PM »
Hi Splint,
I don't use an MPG, but all systems have a limit to the speed they will run at; you may have found your machine's limit.
Keep increasing your speed until you get erratic behavior, then back off it 10%, and usually that is about as fast as it will
run, unless you increase the voltage of your psu, or get stronger motors. ;)

Give it a try, and check back with your results.

 Good Luck! Glenn

Great job of balancing the props!  At those rpm's, they must be PERFECT! They
sure look great on that plane, too!
Keep up the great work, let's see what else you have cnc'd

  Thanks for sharing,  :) Glenn
