General Mach Discussion / Re: Artsoft sold??

Art,
I couldn't have made thousands of flute stands in the last 10 years without your great Mach3 product. Small businesses around the world owe YOU a debt of gratitude for opening our eyes to unlimited possibilities in low cost manufacturing! I use Mach3 daily and can't imagine my shop without it. It would not exist!
 Many,many,many Thanks!
Glenn

Hi surf,
Check all mechanical linkages, loose wiring, then if you still have the same problem, it is probably that you have steppers tuned to fast.
Retest by cutting air, and start 1/2 the speed that you are set at now, and gradually increase the max speed until
the motors miss a step, then back the max down 20% and you should be about where the motors can run safely without fear of missing any steps.
Every one wants the fastest speed they can get from a stepper, but that speed isn't really the most reliable speed.
I would like to hear how things turn out for you.

General Mach Discussion / Re: THIS IS DEDICATED TO "HOOD"
« on: May 02, 2010, 08:15:40 PM »
Hood,
  Thank you! :)
I learned more from you than all the years in high school, I retained more from you than any teacher in school, I respect you for your knowledge and for giving! Giving to anyone, at any time, whatever the reason, reading the rantings of madmen from across the pond and world, and keeping your head level under undue attack!
When I had many problems with my machine you saw me on here enough to be tired of my first avatar (man running around a tree over and over) (Now do you remember? :D), But you were patient and helped me until my lathe ran great.
Be healthy and happy and hopefully we'll chat soon.
Glenn
We are all thankful for you!
