You guys have been helping me upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 10.  Lots of problems but suggested fixes sure helped.  Just deleted Mach3 file and downloaded (again) the suggested Mach file (...062) for a Windows 10, 32 bit computer.  Also downloaded correct driver for UC100 device.  Made profiles for Mill, Turning, and Plasma.  All three shortcut keys (Al's Lathe, Al's Mill, and Al's Plasma) on desktop and load a program.  Trouble is I'm used to seeing a much different main sheet for Turning and Mill on my old XP machine  The sheets for all three programs seem identical.  They are separate programs as a change in the Config files does not show up in another program.  Did Mach3 make this change over the last few years or is something wrong.  Thinking about it, I sort of like the idea as I'm more familiar with the old milling program and that's the sheet showing up for all three programs.  No reason I can't simply program my axis for two dimensional (X,Y) coordinates when I'm doing lathe work.  Maybe all is OK, sure hope so as its been an interesting week.  Thanks again - Al

General Mach Discussion / Mill works great, Lathe bombs
« on: August 26, 2018, 01:33:27 PM »
My machine is a Shopmaster combination Lathe/Mill.  Had to change out the computer a few days ago and upgraded from Windows XP to a computer with Windows 10.  You guys helped me get the proper driver for my UC100 adapter which allowed the Mill portion of Mach3 to work well.  However, the 'Turn' (Lathe) portion bombs during the loading process.  From previous posts, I learned to use the edition of Mach3 which corrects of Windows 10 problems (ends in '62').  I can try deleting all my work, reloading Mach3, and see if this helps but it sure would be nice if there is a simpler solution.  I've tried shutting down the computer and rebooting a number times.  When the program bombs, a light blue Windows screen comes up and which tells me it is rebooting Windows.  Thanks for the help so far.

General Mach Discussion / Trouble getting Mach3 to run in Windows 10
« on: August 25, 2018, 08:33:56 PM »
I'm new to the Forum and greatly appreciate any help.  Have been running Mach3 on a Windows XP machine for about 11 years.  XP Machine gave up the ghost so am trying to operate Mach3 program using a two year old computer operating with Windows 10 (32 bit processor).  I installed a manufacturer's UC100 adaptor which was specifically made for CNC use and which allowed the parallel socket to be adapted to a USB port on the new machine.  Read recent posts on this and downloaded the recommended version of Mach3 (one for Windows 10, ends in '62'.  Left all the old Mach3 files in place but deleted the shortcuts on the Desktop.  No problem with download.  Desktop now shows two shortcuts for mill.  Either one bombs machine as does the shortcut for lathe.  Program which comes up initially states its for Windows 2000 or XP.  When Mach3 main sheet appears, dialog box appears which says its found more than one control devices.  Listed are: Normal printer port operation, Deskpod-NcPod..., and No Device.  Picking any one bombs machine (resets Windows).  Picking Deskpod-NcPod.. first says there's an error then bombs machine.  The Mach3 file did include a Driver Test which didn't seem to work although I think the driver is 'Machsys' which is there.  Older editions of Mach3 don't have this problem but, although they don't bomb, neither can they get the CNC drives to work.
