OMG I'm such an idiot, somehow "home slave with master" got checked. I dont know how, until i started diagnosing this issue I hadn't been in the settings in I don't know how long.

Well, started having issues when I fired it up today. Doing the same thing it was. It's like it isn't even trying to home the slave, the diagnostic light for the slave lights up before the master, but the slave doesn't stop until the master does.

I swapped the wires for the X (not the master) and the A, the X homed fine, slave did the same thing. Swapped the actual switches from Y to A thinking maybe one of my hall effect switches was bad, no change.

Messed with it bit longer and it suddenly starts working. I have also had the e-stop trigger for n o reason a couple of times, so I may have a noise issue. Though the Y and A switches only get near any other wiring right where they connect to the mx4660. All the grounds are  bonded my motor cables and limit switch cables are shielded. Only thing I can think of to try, is powering the input opto isolators with the same 12v supply the switches are powered with instead of the internal one on the mx4660.

I even tried upping the noise cancellation in mach 3 to like 10000. Didn't seem to effect it, it just seems to work sometimes and not others.

Not sure what has changed, went to take the pic of the home/limits screen and when I came back out and tried it it worked. This isn't the first time I've looked at that screen either, rebooted the computer, mach 3, the electronics multiple times.

If it doesn't stop working again I'll chalk it up to software glitch.

Yeah, the y pulls back properly but the a doesn't. I'll get a shot of the homing limits page as soon as I get off work. It even sets the zero, and doesn't put an error in the status window until afternit finishes the x axis.

No, there's one switch for each axis, Y, A (slaved to y), X, and Z, just no limit switches. The machine worked great for 3 years with the gecko.

I have a small cnc router with a 4 axis setup using slaved motors to run the gantry. Was using a gecko 540 and an ess, recently replaced the g540 with a leadshine mx4660. Love how much quieter and smoother the new drives are.

I'm having an issue when homing, the slave axis isn't coming off the switch. Single switch on each axis, just for homing. When I hit ref all home it homes the z, then the y which is the one that is slaved, the the x. It zeroes all 3 axes, then an error pops up in the status window to the effect of "requested home axis is active please fix then home".

If I watch the gantry the slave stops when the switch triggers, but never pulls back off the switch. This is really obvious since I use hall effect switches so there is a pretty good overlap between where it triggers and where it goes back off.
