Downloaded the .zip file, copied to Mach3 main folder,  unzip start M3. View install Screenset and only parts of the new screen show up??  It works as I can Reset (just guessing at buttons no text)  jog and so on.  What am I doing wrong??

Thanks Gerry I have the one I purchased from you  but this may be a  little easier to see the screen in the shop not wearing my readers!   I wish yours had colors for the buttons, Red for Stop and etc.

Does it work with a Ethernet ESS controller and Mach3?

Gerry I purchased your screen set a few months ago and now finally thinking about installing.  Does it work with the Ethernet ESS controller which I now have on my new Fine Line Automation  Saturn 2 router.

SmoothStepper USB / Re: Ethernet ESS Mach3 and Buffer

After Rewind did you click on the Regen Toolpath button?

No I did not, but I think I found the problem.  I was Stopping M3 wrong.  I was stupid and just used the Stop button and that does not run out the buffer.  Feed Hold and after it stops, then the Stop button do whatever and then Run from Line or Rewind or whatever.  I will try that tomorrow.  I thank you for taking the time to give me an answer.  :) I do not have a lot of experience with M3 and ESS.  Before when I ran CNC it was with DeskCNC a pretty decent serial/USB controller  but Very little support.

SmoothStepper USB / Ethernet ESS Mach3 and Buffer

Ran into an interesting problem, ESS Ethernet and Mach3 the approved version.  All is fine... ran some pretty complex g code  from VCarve Pro; and Windows 7 Pro on a laptop setup for CNC, not connected to internet, no power saving  and etc.

What happens, I a running a file, and decide I need to change something.  Stop (not Reset) raise the Z and Home.  Rewind the file otherwise start from Line 1, rezero again... Cycle Start but it tries to run from where the file was when I Stopped.  The cursor in the Screen shows Line 1.

So is the answer I need to exit M3, restart,  reload the file and start over, OR is there a way to clear the buffer in the ESS or what am I doing wrong.  This is a new setup, two months old pre built,  pre wired control panel from CNC Router Parts online, installed on a Fine Line Automation Saturn 2  4x4 machine.  This is not my first CNC but my second Mach3.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Mach3 Windows 10 update -- don't do it
« on: July 24, 2018, 11:49:41 AM »
Even my Windows 7 computers, none ever are allowed to update.  I feel sorry for you folks who switched to Windows 10. I have Nortons for virus control updating and that's it.

Is anyone using Mach3/4 for serious machine control?

I am seeing large 4x8 foot router tables with prices exceeding $20,000 and wondering what control system they are using and if one that used Mach3/4 could ever be considered?

So bottom line I have a US Vendor who I have purchased CNC and laser machines from in the past based in Chicago who has a Chinese 48x48  CNC Router which looks very good, with ball screw on the Z and rack and pinion on the rest, automatic oilers and Ethernet controller. Water cooled 3 Hp spindle with VFD, I have the 1 Hp model now and its great.   With Mach 3  or as an option that Acorn controller.  Price is less than 1/2 of others on the market I have looked at as CAMaster  and two of those others are Chinese made Re-Branded very popular makes. My question is if I have issues with the Mach 3, and the rest of them machine is good a control change out to WinCNC is something I could handle.
So can Mach 3 handle a router without issues?  From what I have read here it can, but Tool changers and the rest not so much.

Mach3 under Vista / Re: another issue with possibly with Win7

PS I took Craig's advice among a couple other users and dumped the parallel port thing and went with the UC400 ETH and solved a lot of problems.

Mach3 under Vista / Re: Mach3 with Windows XP

It is a 32 bit version of XP?  and yes it should have Service Pak3 installed.  My old Lenovo T43 with XP works fine, It was too slow with the parallel port but it worked.  I later upgraded to the UC400 ETH Ethernet controller however.
