General Mach Discussion / Mach3 for Large CNC Router Table - or Not?
« on: January 09, 2018, 08:07:41 AM »
Is anyone using Mach3/4 for serious machine control?

I am seeing large 4x8 foot router tables with prices exceeding $20,000 and wondering what control system they are using and if one that used Mach3/4 could ever be considered?

Problem solved! Some of the configuration files appeared in wrong folder when copied to the installation, the instructions were ambigious (and I went with the wrong alternative). Thanks for the input guys!
Like I said that looks like a nice machine, let us know how it works!

Yes, thanks Craig just what I was hoping for, and the prices are not that far off.

General Mach Discussion / CNC Mach3 4 Axis USB MPG Pendant

Looking at the Remote Pendant that plugs into the USB port, sold by several venders, all look to be Chinese made.  Do they work? How does Mach3 know its there if I am using the UC400ETH.

This one was on amazon, CNC Mach3 4 Axis USB HandWheel Pulse 50PPR Optical Encoder Generator MPG Pendant.

The 4 axis one on eBay I just found looks to be setup just like your 3 axis. Why would you  tie all the +5 from all axis together? I would keep separate.
Also wondering about this> Seems logical, but as I know nothing about servos, I can only guess there's a need to have them separated. Unsure.<  you said.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Mach3 Help with chinese router

thanks for the repply, the rputer is accurate if o do a square of 100mmx100mm the results is a square of 100.007mmx100.007mm, that a pretty good for me, the problem now of the rputer is that if i hit the go to zero button the machine move very slow to go to zero, the jog speed is fine but when i hit that button the speed reduce a  lot, in the home limits the speed is in 100%.

And the other problem is the auto zero tool, the sensor is dettected and working but when i use the tool the z only go up like 10mm when the sensor is 15mm and that value is in the script that i upload in the software(Mach3).

Forget the auto zero for now, if its set up now so it makes the right size square try making a file in VCarve or whatever your running for design and see if it works.

Just wondering was there some sort of Plug in that you had to copy over to the Mach3 folder?  Do you have the latest version of both?  Just wondering as when I went to a Ethernet card on mine I had to copy that file.  My low cost (Chinese)  router looks to be very well constructed and wired. Plus it worked.... sort of out of the box on parallel.  These guys got me straightened out on the correct card.  :) :) :)

There were several configuration files that had to be copied into the Mach folder. They sent Mach, configuration files and documentation with mail.

So if your using the Mach3 they furnished and its not licensed then perhaps there are limitations?  If they sent a pirated version of Mach3  with Chinese add   ons that might also be an issue.

My motion controller was just a break out board running off the parallel port and I had to configure Mach3 after I purchased the license. I did download the newest version from here.    Its a shame its not running, looks very nice.

Craig, don't you just love it when someone without a clue posts a question and then never comes back!   Shows a screen shot of a Directory and thinks its the controller.
Was kind of hoping he would come back.... and someone could help him.
