General Mach Discussion / Re: Moves in x direction before step down

Thank you very much reult. But it was none of these. I couldn't believe it..it was a corrupted Solidcam template causing all the problems!!! So please everyone.. if you are getting errors and using Solidcam, check your templates for errors!! I thought there was a ghost in the machine..but it wasn't Casper the Friendly Ghost..it was Frustration, the Bad template!

Here is one of the gcodes.

I may do that. But, why would all Gcodes do this now? I did not change anything on any of them. Could I have accidentally changed  something in Mach 3, by accidentally hitting a button on the keyboard or something like that? If so, what could it possibly be?

General Mach Discussion / Moves in x direction before step down
« on: March 29, 2019, 03:27:52 PM »
Yesterday all my finished projects involving a step down started moving a small distance in the x direction before each step down. For example, if I am cutting a circle on the CNC machine that is cutting 1 inch deep with four .25 step downs, it will cut the first revolution of circle cut correctly, but it and hits the point to drop the Z level down .25, it first moves over slightly in the x direction before beginning the Z level drop. What could be causing this? It is now affecting all my Gcodes that were working correctly until yesterday.

There are an additional 100 fixtures, G54.1 Pxx
So in the gcode, I should add .1 P1  to G54 if I want to add an additional fixture? Then if I want another additional fixture, I could gcode it like this..G54.1 P2 and so on? In other words, I simply add .1 to G54 and any number up to 100 after P?

Thanks for the replies. yes, overloaded, I believe that is the answer I need. But I am a bit confused..what do you mean by "To access any of the 254 work offsets (1 - 254) program G59 P~ where the P word gives the required offset number." ? What do you mean by program the G59p?

I am trying to add additional offsets/fixtures. As it is there are only 6 available..G54 to G59. How do I add additional offsets/fixtures?

I tried the Gcode with the original G00 lines in place, removed the goo from 2 lines, then replaced it with a new line, as Tweakie instructed me eons ago, it seems. Now it is working nicely. I believe I had a corrupt Gcode o I removed the wrong G00. Whichever one, I sOlved the problem thanks to Ger. If the file wasn't requested I would never have noticed the difference in the files. Cheers to you Ger!

I compared both codes and one is much larger than the other. That is very strange.  And thanks ger, buy I have tried changing it to incremental and back again.
