Tangent Corner / ROMAX CNC WD1 x axis RUNNING WILD
« on: March 10, 2024, 08:42:15 PM »
HELLO bit of a wild card ..but i am running a romax wd1 for a friend he know zero about ...i managed to get all axis responding and have the xml from romax ..its in inch mach is set to inch steps are set to recommended 5300 ...its a closed loop that has two parrallel ports but im only using one at the mo no spindle attached as yet *ihave it
the problem is that when i jog from the ui or the keyoard everything is ok except the minus x which goes positive for about an inch then goes negative   at first i thought it may be motor tuning but the other axis are fine z and y are smooth no grinding ...im thinking the xml may be corrupted but i cant get any joy from romax they dont accept my emails ...any suggestions would be gratefully recieve ..thanks

yeah craig i understand that im not new to it ive been using mach three for ten years or so just only ever set it up twice and im a but rusty (mentally deficient really)  lol... i used to have it on xp which ran fine i used black vipers profiles  to run bare-bones ..with a ups and never had trouble ...its the first time ive set up on 7 but mine is 64 bit and i have my cad software which relies on it so ive multi-booted 32 on a separate drive... ..ive also mislaid my ports and pins set up for my 30 40 machine so i could do with a profile if you have one or can point me in the right direction if i can find my old xml it would be great but i had a drive stolen with most of my data on it and didnt realise it before formatting my machine :( ..so among all my external drives some ide some sata some 32 some 64 some linux ....... it might be hiding ..hopefully ...:) one pc five laptops and six machines no wonder my heads gone west ...ha ha .

thanks .. ;D

HELLO PEEBS
I'm in the UK (not by choice by birth) i have some (limited) experience with mach3 having worked a taig mill in a jewelers designing and making all manner of bling things  and boxing belts etc also a revo 540c 5 (simulated) axis  ..i have just recently got two machines from china one given to me and one purchased .the given is a three axis 60 40 with ball screws so appears OK not been run yet still cleaning it up ..the other smaller 30 40 is lead screws and looks like it might do the job but will replace the screws in time it is however four axis so i can mill cylinder stuff so may do some new legs for my coffee table :) ...lol i have also been trained by Auto desk and Delcam also rhino and matrix so am OK at modelling too just learning blender at the mo use sculptris and am considering the leap to z brush as it seems like the most capable program I've seen so far. I'm also an artist so like to sling a little colour around too my full time job is tattoo but i like to melt a little metal at times  ..my main aim is to get into five and six axis carving so would appreciate any (cheap) leads in that direction :) I'm not rich definitely in the DIY category AT THE MOMENT :)
