Mach4 General Discussion / New Forum!
« on: November 05, 2018, 09:43:48 AM »
Good morning,

As we continue moving forward with a shiny new website (check it out!), we are also going to be making changes here at the support forum. I would love some suggestions on what you would like to see included in the new forum. I cannot guarantee any specific changes, but I will make sure each suggestion is considered carefully. This community is important to me and to Newfangled Solutions and it is my goal to preserve it and give it more room to grow. Thank you for the time you spend here each day and for your input.

Happy CNCing,
Bryanna

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: homing 2 axis

Hello,

You can have all four motors home at the same time without slaving any of them together. Go to Configure>Control>Homing/Soft Limits and you can change the Home Order to the same number for each pair of motors or all four if you'd like.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Licensing question
« on: October 10, 2018, 10:29:51 AM »
Rob,

If your version of Mach3 is a lot older than 3.043.022, it is likely cracked. Those versions are not supported--and neither are licenses that are not valid. A valid license is one that comes from machsupport.com directly or one of the authorized resellers listed on our Partners page. If the license is in someone else's name, it is not valid.

Hello,

I responded to your ticket through the helpdesk, but I wanted to reach out here as well. Try changing your IJ Mode and regenerating the toolpath and see if that fixes it. If it doesn't, you can share your profile here or through your ticket. Go to Help>Support Package Current Profile and attach that to whichever support option you'd like.

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: lua error

XHC makes a motion control card for Mach4, but it is not supported. Their motion controllers for both Mach3 and Mach4 have their problems (search the forum for customer comments on that topic) but I don't know that sticking to one version or another would help. If the one you're using now is working for you, then you definitely don't have to upgrade to a new build. But I would strongly consider saving up and investing in a more reliable, supported motion controller. Believe me, you won't want to miss out on some of the new features we're working on for the next build. ;)

In the meantime, you should now be able to use the wizard with build 3233.

Hello Madi,

I tried to reply to this earlier and did not succeed. I included the wizard as an attachment, which you just need to download and move to your Wizards subfolder within your Mach4 directory in your C: Drive. You might also want to consider upgrading to a newer version, as many new features have become available since 3233 was released. There's a video on our YouTube channel that covers the safest way to upgrade to a new version, so that might be worth checking out if you're interested in moving to 2.0.3804. That is entirely up to you; I won't push you into it. :)

Hello Madi,

You can use the StepsPerUnitCalculator wizard to calibrate your axes. Check out our support video on how to use it here: https://youtu.be/d-xCWDR0Uvg

All the best,
Bryanna
