Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Teach file equivalent
« on: February 05, 2018, 01:40:34 PM »
I'm resurrecting another sleepy forum post, with good news! We will be implementing a teach function in the new plasma screenset that will be released with an upcoming build.
Until then, check out this video for a sneak peak and a walk-through of the functions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-4hqKA68jI

Happy CNCing!

The above method is great! You also have the option now of using the Steps Per Unit Calculator, which is available in the Wizards. Check it out!

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Jogging and DRO errors

This is a known issue that affects some motion controllers in the current build (3481). It has been addressed in later builds (I tested with 3633 and the issue was gone), which you can download and test here: ftp://ftp.machsupport.com/Mach4/DevlopmentVersions/
When we are ready to release a locked-down version, it will be available on our website and I will update this thread as well. If the issue persists in other versions, there is something else going on that we'll need to tackle.

Happy CNCing!

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Mach4 ShuttleXPress/Pro problem

That value is based on your spindle settings. If you're using the wx4.set, you'll see the SRO slider in the bottom right move up or down from 50% to 100% to 150% when you use Spindle Override ++ or --. I don't know of any way to change that amount, but I will update this thread if I come across any new information.

Hello CNCharly,

Thank you for pointing out the missing figures in the documentation folder! Our updated operation manual can be found here and does include those figures you mentioned: http://www.machsupport.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Mach4%20Operation%20Manual.pdf
I will see what I can do about getting the documents updated in the next build. Until then, below you'll find some of our probing/offset videos that may help.

That status message is related to your toolpath. If your video card is not quite up to snuff, you'll see that message. You can go to Configure>Mach>Toolpath to disable VBO tool path.
