Mach4 Videos / PMC Editor Intro and Example
« on: June 18, 2018, 09:56:18 AM »
https://youtu.be/jVhH9qyjjf0

This video introduces the PMC Editor, which is included in Mach4. With it, you can use ladder logic to create scripts that run separately from your g code and macros. It requires no LUA knowledge and gives you a lot more options and controls when it comes to automating your setup. In the video, I walk you through an creating and implementing a basic PMC script, but you are only limited by your creativity with this feature. Enjoy!

Mach4 Videos / Zero Brane Editor
« on: May 17, 2018, 08:53:13 AM »
Some of you have already discovered the Zero Brane Editor in development versions of Mach4 but I made an introduction video for those of you who don't know what it is. The Zero Brane Editor will be included in the next locked down version of Mach4 (coming very soon) along with some other great features.

General Mach Discussion / Mach3 Windows 10 update -- don't do it
« on: May 03, 2018, 03:06:42 PM »
Hello all,

It was brought to our attention today that a new Windows 10 update is causing problems with Mach3. Microsoft is certainly causing me a lot of headaches this past month, but I hope this post will save you from some. If Windows 10 wants to do a "feature update" to version 1803 do not let it. You want to stay on build 1709. If the update goes through and you find that Mach3 will not load beyond the splash screen, the update probably went through and you'll have to roll it back. It's an easy process but it is a bit time consuming. Go into your settings and find the Updates page. Click 'View installed update history' then 'Recovery options.' That sounds a bit dramatic; you're really just rolling back to a slightly older version of Windows 10. On the next screen, you'll have the option to restore Windows 10 to an older version. Agree to the prompts and then be prepared to wait while your system un-updates.

As always, we recommend running Mach3 without automatic updates and offline if at all possible. I'll keep you posted with any new information I might have.

Happy CNCing,
Bryanna

Update: There is a new Mach3 installer on our website (machsupport.com) that includes a patched version of .062 that corrects this issue. Install it over your previous version of Mach3, restart, and you should be back to normal. As always, I recommend backing up your profile, license, and any custom macros or screens--just in case.

General Mach Discussion / Mach4 Transition Worksheet
« on: April 23, 2018, 10:27:54 AM »
Whether you're an established Mach3 user or you're just starting out and all of your machine instructions are for Mach3, it can be scary to make the switch to a new controller. The worksheet attached is meant to ease the transition from Mach3 to Mach4 by helping you collect and organize your settings. Fill it out with with the settings you use in Mach3 and you will be able to use it as a reference when you make your profile in Mach4. It is meant to be used alongside the setup guide for your motion controller--as that will dictate which settings are configured in their plugin and which are configured in Mach4--and with the Mach4 configuration manual. It is written with the language and terminology used in Mach4 so you will know what you are looking for when you start applying your settings.

The worksheet should open in both Excel and Open Office. The first page is an introduction and the Worksheet tab on the bottom is where you'll actually fill out your settings.  Please PM me or submit a ticket at support.machsupport.com with any questions or for more information.

Happy CNCing!

General Mach Discussion / Win7 and the parallel port
« on: April 16, 2018, 04:02:21 PM »
Hello all,

Recently, Windows rolled out several updates across their operating systems and those who had been using Win7 with a parallel port connection found that starting Mach3 would cause a system crash. If you can, it is always best to run Mach3 offline and without automatic updates. In reality, this is not always possible and hiccups like this are bound to happen. I have included a link below to an article below which explains how to uninstall updates in Windows 7 once they have occurred. The culprit of this particular issue is update KB4093118.

Windows 7: https://itstillworks.com/remove-windows-7-updates-8169897.html

I hope this helps save you some headaches!
