Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Running G-Code slows machine

Do you have a hint where I might find that?
See attached. Click on 100% and 100%
or temporarily add
M49
at the beginning of the tap file to see if speed becomes normal.

All retail shops in Melbourne are still closed under stage4 restrictions so I cannot get PCB Blanks and etchant solution for months more. My Sodium Persulphate etchant has long passed useby date.
But I am sure pen plotting + etching will work for making PCBs but can't demonstrate in months.
I had used permanent markers manually and laser printers transfer to make PCBs years ago.

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Mach4 build 4517, M6 Not working

The should be another  "end" after the last if statement.

Sharpie ultra fine permanent markers are PCB Etch (e.g Sodium Persulphate o Ferric Chloride ) resistant so plotting with spring loaded permanent markers may be an easier way to make PCB board than end-mill routing.
Just let Mach3 do just the through hole drilling Only since drilling unlike routing does not need perfect levelling of the PCB.

After switching computers and installing the latest mach4  build 4517 using a ESSv260 I can no longer get my m6 command to work.  I wrote the script just like Daz instructed in his videos but my machine still skips over the manual tool change.  M01 is turned on.  anyone have a suggestion?
Is your "tool change type" setting set correctly?

(I gave away my A3 color printer to my daughter because my Grand Children had to study at home because of Coronavirus Lockdown and needed to print out lessons from Internet.)

So I made a pen holder to use the MACH3 powered CNC router to plot color drawings and pictures.
This Easy Mount Pen holder is made compatible to OFF supermarket BIC Atlantis  ball point pens and the Sharpie Ultra Fine (0.3mm) color Permanent markers - for low running cost.

General Mach Discussion / Re: How to change feedrate on Mach turn
« on: September 17, 2020, 06:01:09 PM »
Currently my setup wants to use inches/minute for the feed rate, but I want to use actual chip load ( inches/rev)
I tried looking online but have not found anything.
Also, is there a good tutorial video on how to learn the basics of Mach turn?

I have only used a mach3 based mill, and have no clue when it comes to the lathe.
I need to learn the absolute easy stuff that may seem simple for novice users.
Thanks.

General Mach Discussion / Re: Problem with spindle speed
« on: September 14, 2020, 02:59:16 AM »
I am guessing you are using an AIR COOLED spindle rather than a WATER COOLED spindle.

Min RPM of an AIR COOLED spindle is 16,000
Which is correct exactly 270/400 x 24,000 RPM.

The FAN of an AIR COOLED spindle cannot run slower because, it cannot cool the motor. So the minimum FAN speed restricted the minimum speed of the Spindle.

If you are using a Water Cooled Spindle, your water pump must be big enough.
