Try this first
Under General Config, increase debounce values to 50 (or even more).
then
better to get better switches.

General Mach Discussion / Re: USB Inputs Not Working
« on: March 07, 2019, 12:23:54 AM »
Hello, I have a 3040 mini CNC I recently purchased and I've been learning to set it up with mach 3. I've got x,y,z movements to work fine, but my estop wont work at all which is set to input one on the controller, nor will any of the other inputs work. Im not sure if there's something wrong with the controller (which I doubt it), but I have no clue how to set them up. :-\ Anyone with a similar problem? My controller is a bsmceo4u-pp

This manual from another supplier (attached) is probably USABLE for your controller.
Hope it helps

HI,

I realize this thread is somewhat old but since I'm having the exact same issue I thought it would be better than starting a new thread.

I'm using an Xbox360 clone controller. When I input the VID and PID it doesn't stick. I tried the solution above but can't seem to get that to stick either. When I uncheck the box in the properties everything seems to work but when I re-open the folder properties it's checked again. It shouldn't make a difference anyway. If I check the attribute through the command prompt it is not write protected. In fact, I can change anything I want in the folder. I have tried manually changing the PID and VID in the mach3.xml but it gets changed back as soon as I open Mach3.

For clarity, I'm running XP as an admin so this is not a permissions issue. DirectX and .net-framework as well as Windows have all been updated. Mach 3 is the newest licensed version directly from the website.

The years have cost me a lot of hair but this is making me pull out the rest. I spent almost the whole day trying everything I could find that seemed related but I can't get it to work. My hair and I would really appreciate any help we can get.

Thanks

You must press [enter] key AFTER you input each value.
Then remember to save config.

Mach SDK plugin questions and answers. / Re: Xbox 360 Button mapping

I followed Zeeway:-

He has a "go to z = 0" button via custom macro which I like.

Hi Lee,

I'm having a strange problem with the Lee Davis XBOX 360 Controller plugin for Mach3.
I'm using an official Xbox 360 wireless controller and an official Xbox 360 PC Adapter for Windows (I'm using Windows XP SP3)
I have programmed the Xbox joystick controls for XYZ movements and programmed many of the buttons for things like Auto-Zero, Home Reference, Reset, Park, Tool Change, etc.
All of the controls on the controller work fine when I start up Mach3, until I drive into a limit switch. After I hit a limit switch (and manually reset Mach3 using the RESET button on the computer screen), all of the programmed buttons no longer work, except for the XYZ joysticks and the left and right trigger controls (for XY & Z speed control).
I tried manually tripping the limit switches, but this did not cause the buttons to stop working (and I could use the Xbox controller to reset Mach3). It's only when I DRIVE into a limit switch that the problem occurs and the buttons go completely dead.
Once I run into a limit switch, the controller buttons will no longer work and the only way to get them working again is to restart Mach3. Restarting Mach3 is easy enough to do, but if you are in the middle of a CNC job you will lose all your references!
I am using the '2010 Screenset', so I tried switching from that to the Mach3 standard screenset, but that did not change the problem.
I also had similar problem to yours but only on Windows 7.
1. I now avoid hitting the physical  limit switches by ALSO setting up SOFT LIMITs just a few mm before the limit switches so that softlimits (usually on) will trigger before the physical limit switches.
2. I had also increased the lookahead buffer from 20 to 200. That strangely improved the stability of the Xbox controller buttons probably because with more memory reserved, the Xbox plug-in memory does not get overwritten so often.

Mach3 under Vista / Re: A Blue Question sign in device manager win7 32
« on: March 04, 2019, 04:16:09 PM »
Hi Reulet,
It was succesful those two files installed. But the blue? Sign still there, i have restarted windows.
 :)
Thank you

After applying the two patches you can safely ignore the ? sign. My win7 system has  the blue? sign too. Only Windows XP systems will NOT have that blue? sign.

Mach3 under Vista / Re: Problem w upgrade from Vista to 7
« on: March 03, 2019, 02:43:39 AM »
Hi everyone,

I just upgraded my PC from Vista to Win 7. It's an 11 year old computer, and has been working fine; I just didn't want to wait until Vista's end of life. Now the controller doesn't work. I checked the port and cable using a breakout box, and I get lights, but not from Mach3; in fact, the lights on the diagnostic page don't light up when I try to jog the motors. I ran DriverTest and it doesn't see the port, and won't run. I'm thinking it's a driver problem at this point, but I don't know what to do about it. Any advice?

Thanks.

I just think that the parallel port card simply needs a Windows 7 driver (the windows vista driver must have  been rejected by windows 7).
If you cannot get windows 7 driver for the PP card get a new card.

A Blue Question sign in device manager win7 32 just means "driver is NOT digitally signed" with Microsoft.

The 2 registry patches are to prevent Mach3 crashing because some new Win7 automatic updates will try to disable the "unsigned drivers".

After applying the two patches you can safely ignore the ? sign.

Some more TIPS: More hurdles to installing win7 on new motherboards

1. New motherboards from Intel Chipset H100  & above and Intel CPU from 7th Generations up are specially designed for Windows 10 x64 ONLY (Not even Windows 10 x86, windows 8.1 or Windows 7).
2. Only XHCI (eXtensible Host Controller Interface) for USB3 is supported from Chipset H100 up and because EHCI controller (USB2) is no longer supported, it would be very quite hard to install windows 7 UNLESS you start by using a PS2 keyboard and a DVDROM. USB keyboard and mouse will stop working during installation - in their effort to stop people installing Win 7 or 8.1.
But after installing with a PS2 keyboard, load the USB3 driver and Win 7 will then work normally supporting USB keyboard and mouse & other USB devices (like USB motion controllers)
(Intel, AMD and Microsoft etc.are trying to FORCE only Windows 10 64 bits on USERS).
3. So for the less brave, get a B85M chipset or older motherboard and Intel 6th Generation or older CPUs and installation of Windows 7 32bits will be EASY.
