Gerry: "You need the correct plugin (.dll file) for your board."

He identified his board as XHC MKX-V in another thread "Newbie Question about Mach 3 to 4" few days ago. So  "ncusbpod.dll"  IS the correct plug-in. I had downloaded the document and the driver for that card before I posted.

Thanks Reuelt.

I've done that and see that it yields a version number 3.043.062. I've been led to believe that there is a version number 3.043.062. Is this accurate? Am I missing something?
Version 3.043.062 is used by more users as it works with most plug-ins. I downgraded from  3.043.066 too.
Also it is the only version PATCHED to run on Windows 10 1803 and above. Ver 3.043.066 and all other versions will crash on Windows 10 1803 and above.

Mach3 interface Board v1. 2 2014-10
This is NOT the brand and model number - just a generic description.

1 I cannot identify your Mach3 interface board.
Please take picture of the whole board.
2. Your device manager list does NOT show that you have successfully loaded the MACH3 parallel port driver YET.
Mach3 pulseing Engine & driver are missing
YOU need to reinstall MACH3 again

1. What does Pod stand for?

2. How do you configure Mach3 using a BOB connected via USB cable?

3. Vacuum table hose....where is the best place to source this? (Canada/USA)

4. Upgrading Mach3...what is the latest version, and where is it to be found?

Answers anxiously awaited....

Thanks in advance to any and all that respond.

Kevin

1. POD?
I think the Maker of the XHC MKX-V "USB motion Controller" nicknamed it "ncusbpod" probably because it looks like and is about the same size as the Apple IPOD. Can't call it a board or a card...
2. You need to copy the plugin "ncusbpod.dll"  into c:\mach3\plugins after you have installed MACH3.
3.
4. Download latest [MACH3 R3.043] from
https://www.machsupport.com/downloads-updates/main-programs/

Thank you.
Your VFD has impressive data even without connecting a huge external "Braking Resister" YET.

General Mach Discussion / Re: is a position preset possible?
« on: April 11, 2019, 07:03:48 PM »
is it possible to configure a keyboard shortcut to jog the router to a preset position, say for a tool change or move the router down the table to load plywood.

Thank you
Best to have physical home switches.
Then clicking on [REF. ALL HOME] will send the head (router/spindle) to "home".
There are also Gcodes G28, G28.1 and G30 that will send head (router/spindle)  to "home".

For tool change, it is better to do config | general config and select
[Stop spindle wait for cycle start]
You can then edit M6Start.m1s macro under your profile to do whatever you want. (search the forum to see how others have done it). Machine will stop at M6 commands in you files for tool change and will move to where you define in the macro. You can even program the macro to allow you to do the "auto tool (z) zero" before you hit [cycle start].

Alternatively, you can just define any G55 to G59 work offset (PERMANENTLY) to move wherever you want by clicking on screen or by G55 to g59 Gcodes. Leave G54 for normal machining where you often zero x, y and z manually.

Do you know what is your Break Out Board (BOB) Brand and model number?
Unless you have set up your "ports and pins" correctly, the machine is not going to move or do anything.

Does your model support the use of a "BRAKING RESISTOR" to stop the spindle in less than 1 sec?

Depending on RPM and tool size, a braking resistor will probably not be able to stop a spindle in 1 second. Maybe at low rpm, but not from 24,000rpm with a big, heavy tool in the spindle.
From youtube:
Regenerative DC Braking on a 2.2kw 3hp Hitachi WJ200 VFD with a 35ohm 400watt wire wound resistor. .5 second starts and .75 second stops.
Isn't 0.75 seconds is less than 1 second?
