He is using semiconductor (non-contact) sensors and not mechanical switches.
I do not think you can connect those electronic PNP sensors in series and in NC mode. I may be wrong.

Ricky,
What is your PC spec. Is it a laptop or a desktop?
What is your CPU model and size of RAM and Video Card.
If you have a good CPU on desktop, try to increase the Kernel Speed to 35,000 or even higher.
My Win 7 can run at 100,000 with no problem because I have a Quad Core I5 7600 running at 3.5GHz. I can even reduce the step and direction to 2 and 2 and run at 4,000mm/min. With my older PC, core-2 duo running at 3Ghz, I can only run smoothly at 35,000 kernel speed but my pulse and dir usec had to be set at 10 and 5 otherwise motor will stall when G0 is executed. Also max speed had to be reduced to 1800mm/min
With my 2GHz laptop, I can only run at max speed of 1200mm/min (about 47inches per minute)

Time is money so a GOOD CPU will save you a lot of money and headaches.

PIN 16 must be configured for "CHARGE PUMP" output or Gecko G540 will not enable the drives.

When I tried to wire two switches I can’t get them both to work on the same input, only one.  I tried every combo in all the posts I found.  How should pnp’s be wired so each can trip independently?
You may need have an "EXCLUSIVE-OR" IC on a PCB.

Or buy EX-OR Module to test first (see attached)

Thank you for your help,

Yes, I also use UC100 with the PC. My laptop is a Surface pro 4 with Window 10 64 bits and a french canadian keyboard. It was working fine before with this configuration.

I will explore your suggestions and make an update later on.

Jack

It is likely that Surface Pro 5 was updated by automatic Windows Update to the latest Windows 10 version.
If Windows 10 version has become 1803 or higher,
please make sure that you have updated MACH3 to the patched version found at
https://www.machsupport.com/downloads-updates/main-programs/

I would replace both the parallel port cards and new parallel port cables.

Since Gecko G540 runs at high voltage, it is very likely that both the buffer chips in both the parallel port cards could be FRIED and shorted.

Hi Tweakie,

this problem is there from beginning but I didn't realy have time to solve it till now  ::). Yesterday I've updated mach4 to build 4.2.0.4162 and ESS to 234 build. I will post in warp9 forum, but before I will do another test in friday when I'll be back in my workshop. Also I will do complete uninstall of mach4 and fresh install. Thanks.

Peter

Just note that MACH4 ALSO disables the "CHARGE PUMP" output of the Darwin Parallel port plug-in, exactly the same way as it disables your Custom MACRO output.

That's why I had earlier suggested that you try using m7 and m9 to test.

If STD keyboard works correctly,
YOU can download 60 day trial version of keytest program from
https://www.passmark.com/products/keytest.htm

to display your laptop arrow keys scan codes.

Then enter the CORRECT scan codes in MACH3 | System Hot Keys table.

Hello,

Since I redid the installation of Mach3 on my laptop (with the appropriate files for my G540 and UC 100) , I can not jog my axes as before.
For example, my X axis always works in the same direction, no matter if I use the left or the right arrow.
I tried a reset of my Hotkeys without success
However, with my PC everything works fine.
Do you have an idea of the problem with my laptop?

Thanks
Jack
Are you ALSO using UC100 with the PC or just the Parallel Port directly to Gecko G540?

If UC100 is also usable on the PC, your laptop may have a keyboard that has a different set of SCAN CODES. Try plugging in the PCs keyboard into the laptop to test if STD keyboard scan codes works.

What Brand/model is your laptop. What OS (Win 10 64bits?) and language keyboard are you using?

i am guessing that when your friend installed the new version of MACH3, the working profile was replaced by the MACH3 default unconfigured XML file.
Try to restore your a backup mach3mill.xlm (or whatever profile) you had.
