i had only changed the motor ,same spec just more kw.
the 0-10 is generated in the breakout board it is not like some stand alone modules .

i presume it just a coincidence or as its ok 0-1730 rpm it may have been like it for a while if i had been using lower rpm for some parts

hi thanks

i took the wires off the vfd
i can now get readings from 0 to 10v  depending on which speed is selected

so is this the break out board or vfd faulty  ?

General Mach Discussion / pwm spindle control help needed
« on: February 26, 2020, 05:31:49 AM »
hi ive just put a new motor in my lathe running mach3 turn

its a 1440 rpm 2.2kw 3ph 50hz  motor  (uk)
my vfd is set min hz 20 max 80  0-10v analog v input
same as the original set up but now 2.2kw instead of the original 1.5kw .

i have a uc400 eth smooth stepper

i think ive changed something in mach3turn
pulley 1 is 0-2300  rpm   (motor and spindle same size pulleys)
the max spindle rpm  will only go 1735 rpm

i checked the 0-10v input at the vfd and it was only around 6v not 10 hence 60hz not 80
so if i got this right    m3 s2300 should give me 10v at the vfd   = 80hz =2300rpm ish

the breakout board (cnc4you 0-10v) has been fine and produces the 0-10v for the vfd

Any ideas what i should check in the settings as a starter .
regards

Sorry for asking a stupid question

but if convert to mach4 from mach3 turn   .Does the css work properly ie altering the feed rate as well as the spindle speed to match .

thanks

General Mach Discussion / auto tool height setting macro ????
« on: November 26, 2019, 05:18:47 AM »
Hi

i have a mill on mach3 with an 8 station auto tool changer .
i have seen videos of someone hitting a button and running a script which takes each tool in turn and hits a tool setting probe then populates the tool table .at the moment im a piece of paper under the tool  guy.

My question is
is there an available macro to download/buy that is really useful for populating the tool table with the offsets

or is there an easier way to do this presumably using a touch plate probe

cheers

General Mach Discussion / threading wizard help
« on: September 24, 2019, 06:53:04 AM »
need a bit of help
my fusion pp produces g78 on canned thread  and g32 ,on not canned.
i like the wizard in mach3 turn, it produces g76
i tried to get a fusion pp that produces g76 but no luck.

the wizard is good for external ,is it possible to use this for internal ,if so how?

Is there an add on /screenset i can buy that will produce g76 for internal and external threading.

thanks

General Mach Discussion / mach3turn fusion360
« on: September 21, 2019, 04:08:06 AM »
i need a bit of help
my fusion 360 pp if i ask for canned cycle generates g78 . unchecked g32

i would prefer the canned cycle g76
are there any changes i can make or does someone have a mach3turn  fusion360 post processor that generates g76 threading code

thanks for the help

i just updated the firmware for the uc400eth . ;D

sorry if i ask stupid questions but this is new to me and i thought i would come here for help .
i  am more than happy to modify my lathe for an encoder .
ive seen some omron 2000 p   a b  and z .  i think the z is one pulse per rev so is that suitable?

if i build this ,i presume from what you have said that i will need to have a new g76 macro. will i be able to get/buy a copy of this and/or any other code?

correct me if im wrong but am i right in thinking
mount abi(z) encoder 1:1 with spindle
wire the encoder to my breakout board
configure ports and pins (any ideas where they are needed to connected to)
have a new macro for g76
anything else?

thanks  again
