General Mach Discussion / Re: Motors don't lock or turn screws

I am going to find a different parallel port cable and try that. I don't have limit switches installed, no other safety switch I'm aware of. I am thinking of buying either a new circuit board or controller box, do you know where I can find either of those. The Controller box is a 6040Z-s65j.

All the ports and pins tables are still the same numbers as when it worked. I do feel like its just one button I need to push or something stupid.

The E-stop is not pressed. How do you enable the signal?

I have a Chinese 6040 that I have had for years and worked just fine until we moved, once I put everything back together the XYZ won't move, it shows on the screen the numbers are moving but the motors don't lock or turn the screws. It seems like everything else works it's just that my XYZ physical movement does not. Please help I have some projects I need to get done.

General Mach Discussion / Issue with Z Jogging

When I try to jog my spindle up and down with the page up and page down keys on the keyboard it is random as to which direction it actually goes, sometimes when I press up it will go down then I press up again and it will go up, then I will press down and it will go up and then next time down, just always random. I still moves perfectly in the x and y directions. This just started happening a couple day ago, wondering if anyone could help. If I try to cut something it still goes in random directions only in the Z. I have had this machine for 4 years so it has worked very well before. Please help. Possibly a short somewhere in the system?
