General Mach Discussion / Re: Another C11G spindle Control issue..
« on: March 27, 2019, 10:12:54 PM »

So how do I drive that card from the C11

For DC motor to be able to be controlled by MACH3
you need something like

Thanks for the response...
I have it setup as a pmw but I had a higher frequency than that. So tomorrow I am going to try your settings.
The weird thing about this board is ..
I am using a PC power supply since I gutted an old rack mount pc. I have one of the 5v outs to power the C11.
So I have a complete separate 12v supply. But whenever I connect the wire to the 12v input on of the relays just humming..
Even if that 12v supply us not plugged into 120v.
Now if I use one of the 12v outs of the pc supply it does not humming
But I get no more than about 300mv out of the 0-10 out.

And all I am doing is driving a DC motor. So just replacing the pot on the Harbour Freight mill.
I don't have a VFD...

The default profile from CNC4PC I think assumes that the spindle will be controlled using Pulse and DIR method.
I don't know why you want the analog 0-10V since you did not say whether you are using a VFD inverter or not and have not named the brand and model.

Anyway, I am showing you how you can get 0-10V - just follow my 2 uploaded attachments.

General Mach Discussion / Another C11G spindle Control issue..

I am hoping someone can shed some light on this. Just upgraded to the C11G...
I have everything else on this board working... BUT NO SPINDLE.
I have done just about everything...

I have a 12v supply feeding the 12volt analogue input. I have used the XML downloaded from CNC4PC. All I get out of the analogue out us like 700 MV ...

Has anyone got this working.. getting very frustrated..
Thanks

Sieg Machines / X2 machine mounting hall effect and spindle light
« on: January 11, 2019, 05:31:15 PM »
Ok folks I need some advice. I purchased a led light from eBay vendor. It's super bright if anyone is interested pm me and I will give you the link.
That said I have done the LMS belt drive and o don't have any room to mount a hall effect sensor for my Tach.

So I had an idea to make a 3x3x1 inch bracket to go around the bottom of the spindle. Cutting side.

The hall effect sensor I have has the pullup resistor in the plastic package. The unit looks like an oval.
So I was looking at mounting this between spindle and the column.
This will mean I will need to drill a 3/8 hole maybe 1/8 deep to glue the magnetic in.
Any issues with that ?
Also any helpful tips on mounting all of this.

Thanks guys what i thought...

Ok i am getting ready to add spindle control to my Harbor Freight Mill. I have looked into putting a REV function on it but cant really see why that would be a big deal or not. When i say big deal i mean using it... Are you folks tapping in CNC program? Tell me why i need the REV?

Ok good info thanks...

just some clarification:

in MACH3 the spindle outputs, your calling them 1 and 2, these would normally go to the control side of a relay correct? The C11G has 2 on board relays, and looks like pin 16 (which is the enable pin) decides which of the 2 relays are on. So one way is pin 14 (step) and pin 16 (dir) are on, One relay is on and if 14 is on and 16 is off the other relay is on. Looks to me that pin 16 on or off controls which relay. SO with that said, does issuing a M3 S1000 for example, doe that turn on pin 16 and issuing a M4 s1000 turn pin 16 off? I do understand the spindle relays in MACH setting which output but like i said that seems to me to be if you have remote relays on the mill. Those outputs would have nothing to do with the internal relays on the C11G.

I am not even sure if i need rev on my mill. How are you guys using it?

General Mach Discussion / Re: Create a Button in MACH3 to turn on output
« on: January 02, 2019, 08:33:18 AM »
that link is not good and i cant search the forum either. can you send me the .pdf?
Add a macro to the button to turn on the output, using ActivateSignal().

See the programmer's guide.

Unfortunately, Artsoft deleted all the useful info that used to be in the Wiki.

General Mach Discussion / Need some help with C11 board and MACH...
« on: December 27, 2018, 12:51:20 AM »
I have tried to find the answer to this but the search function won't work so here goes...
I am going to buy the C11G version 9 board which has 3 relays.
It shows that pin 14 controls the step and 16 the direction. So when 14 is on and 16 is on Relay 2 is on...
When 14 is on and 16 is off the relay 1 is on.
So has anyone wired these..  so in MACH..
I use 14 as the step which I assume is spindle on.. and Pin 16 on or off is the directon pin to turn on relays.
Can I use outputs in MACH to turn on or off 14 to control these relays.. or how have you guys been using them.
