*****VIDEOS***** / Re: Mach3 running under VMWare Windows 7 32
« on: September 16, 2019, 01:20:50 PM »
Thanks, it makes my whole work environment more stable. I can have a powerful computer in my shop, it has a dual port network card, one port connected to the internet and one port connected to my ESS Smoother Stepper, and my Relay Expansion Board. The Host computer has updates turned on, Norton 360 Protection Package, 4 Monitors, and host of applications I need during the day. The VMWare Virtual Computer has Windows 73 Bit which has ALL of the current Windows patches, but has Auto Updates turned off, it has no virus scan, (but is actually protected by the Norton 360 on the host computer) it also has access to the Dual Port network card so it has internet access. I use the Warp9 recommended thread priority settings

https://warp9td.com/index.php/faq/faq-windows#HigherPriorityLevel

when I run Mach3. It works FLAWLESSLY every time. I run very large complex 3D routing Gcode as well as simple plasma cutting gcode, ever since I went with this setup I have not had an issue. If anyone would like any additional information please feel free to reach out. I also have a document on my site that will help with the process.

*****VIDEOS***** / Mach3 running under VMWare Windows 7 32
« on: June 25, 2019, 06:53:34 AM »
Mach3 running under VMWare Windows 7 32 bit, which is running on a Windows 10 64 bit
The Windows 10 host computer has Virus Scan, Internet Access, and is running an intense BobCAD 3d Simulation.
The Windows 7 32 bit under VMware is locked down, no virus scan (remember its cover by the hosts virus scan), no updates, etc...
This setup runs flawlessly everyday with GCode over 750,000 lines.

Finally our ScreenSet... SmartScreens for Mach3 is on Newfangled's website.  Its free for 60 days, then just $10 to $30 dollars depending on what version fits you best.
This is not new it has been around for 2 years, but it took a long time to make it available from here.

Download it here:

If you already own it: Get the latest version here...

General Mach Discussion / Re: Touch plate + touch probe connection

I have 2 connections to my probe input. As long as both are not active at the same time I do not see why you cannot do this also? I hope this helps.

I was able to do this in my post processor but I use BobCAD not SheetCAM. I would think if I could do it in BobCAD you can do it in SheetCAM.

I made this for me, I use it everyday. https://mygarageshop.com/ I have a mixed background software development and robotics / automation. I felt like I needed more that what was available. So I created it. It is so much more than just a ScreenSet. It is and Extension to Mach3 (or whatever other environment I connect it to, Mach4 is next on the list) The SmartScreen Utilities as a separate executable that communicates with Mach3 using a Windows COM Interface.

Thank you for the compliment.
