No I haven't been able to find one, but I did go through the configuration and unchecked the active-low options on the stepper motors and they are no longer crazy. It took me two weeks to isolate the issue and troubleshoot it. Along the way I've dismantled the machine many times to check and then reassemble but clearly the problems were still there. It was a nasty experience.

General Mach Discussion / Configuration for Sherline Mill Metric

Hi all,

Has anybody successfully used Mach 3 to drive the Sherline Milling Machine? Able to share with me the configuration file? The XML file I downloaded off from ftp.machsupport.com/XMLs seem to have wrongly configured motor outputs and it is causing my machine to behave really strange.

Aloysius

General Mach Discussion / Position Loss Issue
« on: February 10, 2017, 04:08:24 AM »
hi all,

What i've done so far to drive my metric Sherline mill is to install UC100 + Mach3 on my desktop and then used the XML file for sherline metric off the ftp.machsupport.com/XMLs but when I run test code to cut a simple profile such as a square I get very bad loss of position every cycle:

Anybody able to help me troubleshoot this issue? I'm helpless, and have disassembled the mill a number of times to check backlash and what not...

Regards

Not much help really but my best suggestion is that you try a different PC.

Tweakie.

Would reinstalling with windows 8 help?

FAQs / Re: Windows 10 issue
« on: February 10, 2017, 03:46:43 AM »
I just upgraded to Windows 10 (from Windows 7), and now have issue with running Mach 3.  The error I get is "Attempted_Write_to_Readonly_Memory(mach3.sys)".     Computer then goes through reboot.  Anyone else having same issue? Solutions?  Not sure if it is Mach3 compatibility or Windows bug.

Yes I am experiencing this exact problem now, does anybody have a solution for it?

General Mach Discussion / Mach3 DriverTest Blue Screen of Death

Hi all,

When I attempt to run the Mach3 DriverTest, after the initializing process it goes into take over, freezes at 1s left and then it crashes with a blue screen of death saying Mach3.sys attempted to write to a read-only memory.

How do I solve this problem?

Regards,
Aloysius
