Hi guys please excuse  me if this is not directly connected to mack 3 but i would like to install a touch probe to the interface board on my cnc , my problem is i have used all 3 available inputs 10/13/15 for limit switches xyz . is there a way to loop the 3 switches to one available input thus freeing up 10 or 15 and how may i do this ?

Share Your GCode / DELRIN
« on: January 28, 2019, 07:01:50 AM »
Not sure if this is the correct place for this post ?
Looking for advise on cutting Acetal / Delrin 12.5 mm thick . I im getting reasonable results at 20mm per second at 20,000 rev per minute 3 passed last pass .5 offset with a 6mm twin flute bit but Still minor chatter marks on the edge. The work piece is held down well so maybe a different cutter or feeds and speeds need adjusting ?

General Mach Discussion / xml files to later version of Mach 3
« on: January 26, 2019, 04:55:08 AM »
Hi guys
in the deep end here again just when you think things are going well .
My machine was built for me and supplied with what now appears to be an early version of Mach 3 VD1:90:065 ARGH  >:D pity the machine is a great build and works perfectly but the early version lacks some ability to set certain parameters
I already have a current version on my office pc that i purchased to learn the program .
My knowledge of computers is minimal although i have an outline idea of what to do i need some input on copying which files  over from the supplied memory stick ,these i assume being the XML files and the profile files created  by the manufacturer .
I was going to install the new version on the workshop pc and run it along side the older version until im sure i have things right

General Mach Discussion / slave axis and home switches
« on: January 25, 2019, 01:20:26 PM »
Hi Again
with some guidance from a very helpful guy on here i managed to configure my home switches that was until i allowed the y axis which is controlled by 2 stepper motors one controlled by a slave axis "A" to travel in a negative direction to the switches . Mmmm  don't think  so  :(
The slave axis has a mind of its own at this stage . I guess im trying to figure out here how to get the slave axis "A" to run in sync with "Y" to the home position.
Iv'e checked the motor tuning and all is well, i didn't really expect any different as the machine runs a dream when running code .
Any help may just give me a good nights sleep  :-[

General Mach Discussion / home switch configuration
« on: January 16, 2019, 07:16:25 AM »
Hi
just setting up home switches on the cnc.
A couple of shady areas i need to cover before final connection .
i have x y z switches installed working N/C "normally closed " and have identified pin 10  X ---pin 13  Y ---- and pin 15  Z, and earth point on the breakout board.

My question is i can highlight these pins and number them on the inputs in Mach 3 but am unsure if there is a setting for N/C or N/O i assume if its a signal to the board it isnt relevant maybe you could clarify this for me
Thanks in advance
Jon
