Just unplug the spindle and run the same code as before. You want to drive the relay to make sure there's no other problems with your circuit.

2
Sounds like you're suffering from EMI from when the spindle is turning on.
A motor that is turning on at full speed (as when controlled using a relay) is causing huge inductive spikes that can interfere with nearby electronic circuits. Even the ones that aren't physically connected to the motor.

Try disconnecting the spindle from the relay to verify this. If the limit switch stops triggering when the spindle is disconnected you know it's noise from the spindle that's causing it.
Try moving the relay and the wiring to the spindle further away from other cabling such as limit switch cables and circuits.

This whole situation is more than a little worrying.
The lack of response and action from NFS makes me wonder if the company is going out of business.
I would not buy anything from them at this point.

It looks to me as they've lost admin access to the forum server and can't fix anything anymore and they want to setup a new forum instead as a solution.
My biggest fear is that they won't be able to transfer any posts from the old forum.

Some functions (such as search and link re-directs, etc.) may be a little cranky or broken until it is all sorted  :'(

The search function is not a little cranky. It's dead. Fix it!

This forum is currently undergoing a re-think on layout, content, etc.  and you are invited to make your suggestions / comments here;  http://forum.machsupport.com/forum/index.php/topic,38649.0.html

Start with a repair of the search function.
The forum is the main source of support for your products and it's literally still DOWN.
If you can't restore or reinstall the dictionary then at least disable te spell checking so that we can search again.

This is starting to look really embarrasing since it should be quite easy to fix.
Give me access to the server and I'll fix the forum for you in no time. All I ask for in return is a couple of Mach 4 licenses or a decent ethernet motion controller :)

Bryanna had made a large list of all the #VARS in Mach4.  I can't find that list anywhere, especially since the search function is currently down.
That is something that could be added to the DOCS folder in Mach4, and/or added to the Mach4 Tool Box.

It's not very practical but until they have fixed URL rewriting to redirect old forum URLs to the right post in the new forum and fixed the search engine in the forum it is possible to use Google or Bing or similar to find old posts in the forum.
In Google, do a search for Mach4 VARS site:www.machsupport.com/forum
Use cached copy of the page to verify if it's the content you're looking for. When you have found the right post and want to open it in the new forum you copy the link to the search hit in the google result list:

This for example is the first hit from Google:
https://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php?topic=27396.0

Replace https with http and www with forum and you have the address to the post in the new forum:
http://forum.machsupport.com/forum/index.php?topic=27396.0

You really need to activate URL rewriting on www.machsupport.com so that all old links to forum posts are redirected to the right forum post at forum.macsupport.com.
Shouldn't be hard since all that is needed is to replace www.machsupport.com/forum/* with forum.machsupport.com/forum/*
Now all internal links, external links plus Google and other search links to forum posts are dead.

You also need to fix the forum search function. It now fails with an error:
2: pspell_new(): PSPELL couldn't open the dictionary. reason: No word lists can be found for the language "en".
