General Mach Discussion / Re: radius or diameter circle
« on: December 29, 2016, 09:21:57 AM »
I am using Cut2d for my Gcode. I setup the tool diameter with the circle size. My issue is motor tuning and setup. I need high torque for the stepper motors because I am cutting aluminum and I have a vise that is heavy. If I tune it for faster speeds I can't even move the x and y axis with the vise on it.

Thanks Nathan

Yes I am using mm and I did use Diameter. So Radius is what I needed to use? Can you give me an example of when I should be using the diameter?

Thank You Nathan

I need to make a hole that will fit a 18 mm diameter round panel connector. I tried to mill it and it was twice it was supposed to be. I set it up for 18mm but it was more like double the size.

Thank you Nathan

Now when I am setting up home switches and putting the info into the Homing/Limits screen. What should be my soft max input for the table size. Should it be the actual size of the table or the stroke of the table?

Thank You Nathan

I am having a hard time getting the steppers to move. They worked on my parallel 5 axis breakout board. I have win7 32bit operating system. the 5v led flashes quick and the work led flashes slow. Not sure how they are supposed to blink. Can any one post some pictures of their setup and parameter settings in Mach3? I have 36 volts to all drivers and 12v to the power. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi I am Nathan and I am new to all of this and I am looking forward to getting this mill up and running :)

I have a ST-V2 Breakout Board and a Sunfar E500 2.2kw vfd and I can't get the spindle to spin thru Mach 3 PWM. I looked for detailed wiring print and can't find anything on either the breakout board or vfd. I need some help with making sure I have it wired correctly and the setup in Mach 3 also.

Thank You Nathan
