General Mach Discussion / Mach3 newbie needs config help !

Hello - I am a 'hardware guy' trying to configure Mach3 for use with a G540 driving a SX3 via a XMT-SK interface board. I need to create a version of the G540.xml file that will  control PWM via parallel port pin port 14, Start/Stop via pin 1 and DIR via pin 17. I have been completely frustrated trying to do this myself. Can someone walk me through the ports and pins section of Mach3 , or better yet send a link to a file I can use ?. I just need to finish up the hardware verification so I can send it back to the CNC/Mach3 customer that has the know-how to write code for his machine. My computer is configured to use the ECP/EPP function of the parallel port , and the charge pump is resetting correctly. The G540 is working correctly as I can control the start/stop and dir pins by applying +5v to the parallel port inputs, and I can control speed by sending 50hz PWM to pin 14 via my shop pulse generator. I believe I have a simple case of 'operator headspace trouble' ...Thanks !
