Hi,

I have a DM-26EA servo drive however I can't find an English manual for it (came with a manual in full Chinese). The drive looks identical to the ASDD-30A.

OK I'm a little confused on the taper angle. Some say (half angle) 8.2971 and others say 8.1301 .

I've been reading this thread for some info and ended up with the initial settings you see in the attached image. I haven't tried it yet. Does this look OK to you?

PoKeys / What causes "Weird signal from device" error?

Finally found the problem. It was the 20 cm wall type cat5 extension cable I use in the electronics box. When I remove it and connect pokeys directly to the computer (with a standard cable) everything is fine. I can't believe myself I didn't try this at first.

Yes I noticed that but I already restored the whole profile folder however shuttle none of the shuttle buttons are working.

It's not too hard to map all again but it would be nice to have them back.

I just ran and install the latest Mach4Hobby build over an old build but before I took a backup. Anyway, my shuttle pro settings are gone now. Is there a way to take just shuttle settings from the backup and move to mach4 I just installed?

By the way, I have tried the firmwares bellow but lathe encoder does not work with these firmwares so I stick with 4.2.39.

I'm using a PoKeys57E with cnc4pc M16 board. Machine is a lathe. It works fine when it works but I often get this annoying error. Once I see it the machine then stops responding and then a "Connection with the device is lost" error comes promptly. The only thing left is to power-off/power-on 57E and restart Mach4.

I have checked all the wiring to make sure if I have a grounding loop but everything looks fine.

When I first get the 57E from cnc4pc it had v4.1.xx firmware installed. I then updated it to PoKeys v4.2.39 but nothing changed.

Anyway, what causes this error? Is there anything I can do/check?

Hi Matevž,

Lathe encoder doesn't work with the latest firmware. In the PoKeys diagnostigs screen I can see the pins 8, 12, 13 are flashing when I spin the spindle with my hand but Mach4 doesn't receive an RPM value.

It was working perfect with the old firmware. I downgraded the firmware to v4.2.39 and lathe encoder works now. Card is 57E by the way.

Is this a bug of 4.3.9a?

Sorry bringing up this old thread.

How did you downgrade firmware of 57E? Where can I find an old firmware? I need to flash fw version 4.1.2 (or similar) but I have no luck on finding the old firmwares.
