General Mach Discussion / Re: Need help with new board
« on: August 13, 2016, 02:13:11 PM »
I am building the electronics cabinet on my Homemade CNC,

I see that your USBCNC  board is using USB and not a Parallel port,

for us to help you we (I) need a (or more) photos of the control box.

Did the DC (should be 24-40vdc) transformer survive?

regards

Gosh that was quick.... thanks I will try afterwards or tommorrow, I drank wine with my dinner so its not a good time right now lol

Um which Xbox controller "script" did you use? one is called Shilling Systems and one is by Lee Davis?

I follow GuruBrew on Utube and he has both a "film" for Zeroing and using an Xbox controller

Hi Charlie M,

Are you still coming here?

I too want use my Xbox controller to initiate the auto tool zero function :)

Its a shame you only gave hints on how to do it, I wonder if you could go through it as I dont know much about coding etc.

I really have not tried this so please dont be too hard on me.

I am building my own cnc from scratch and I noticed this video on how to setup axis.

it seems you force the cnc do a predictable distance say 18 inches, then measure the actual distance and find the % error. (the bigger the number the better)

this guy explains it so much better and he has a marvellous accent :)

I understand its not a video on rotational axis but it might help as you seem to be getting the wrong results.

One last thing are you useing inches and millimeters and mixing them somehow, I suppose you may have used a another (turning) interface and it needs calibrating?

If your spindle is losing revs I saw some way of keeping them up using something called SuperPid, try looking for them with Google.

There is another not so expencive way a sort of DIY superpid, goto YouTube and search for "DIY Arduino CNC Spindle Speed Control"

I hope this helps
