General Mach Discussion / O-Ring grove with a side cutter?

Does anyone know how I could use the conversational programing to cut an O-ring grove around a stand up vertical post using a woodruff key cutter. I tried the thread milling with a zero lead but that didn't seem to work.

I haven't used these much either because I use SolidWorks and SolidCam, but they are very handy for this small lab machine to do Prototype work and changes. In fact I wish the wizards had a shape with two flats for doing cord clamp and lock holes. But then I can't get this first shape with one flat to generate the g-code. I also could figure out how to do a screen capture on this computer which only has Mach3 on it so I am sending pictures taken from a phone camera. I hope these are good enough to see the problem. Thank you.

It is the one shown in your attached picture. The Hex shape and others work fine, it's the "D" shape that won't write the code. Thank you.

After thinking about it, our wizard package is form around 2005, I think I need to update and then I'm sure the problem will go away. Or at least it would be a good start. Can you tell me where to locate the newest version of wizards. Thank you.

Yes, but it was with a machine at work. I will post it Monday morning. Thank you.

I was trying to cut a "D" shaped hole through 1/8" plastic using the "Shapes" wizard, but it refused to generate the G-code and would give me a message of; offset can't be > then cutter. The offsets where set at zero and they where marked as not needed for this anyway. I tried changing all the different setting but nothing helped. What was I doing wrong?

VB and the development of wizards / Wizard Shapes

I tried to use the “Wizard Shapes Program” to cut a D shaped hole through 1/8” plastic. But it refused to generate the G code by saying; the offsets can’t be > then tool diameter. This makes no sense because I had it set on contour which just plunging through and I had all the offsets set at zero. I know this program works because I had used it before to cut a hex. What am I doing wrong?

I forgot to ask; when I reload a newer version of Mach3 will it overwrite my settings?

Thank you for the help. I had bought two packs of this software awhile back, but now I can't remember how to contact NFS for the latest version of the Wizards. Can you help with the contact information? Thank you.
