Nice job! It looks like new. Can you help me with another mather . Which pull stud are you using the thing on the SK40 tool holder?
I can’t find one that will clamp into my microne.

Bestr regards

Hey, how is your progress? I have some small adjustments to make on mine and then hopefully I will run my machine on the end of January 2018
Still having some position correction we are talking 0.005mm the motor is constantly searching for the position.

Greetings altogether. My problem is so simple and yet I tried everything and no solution.

My linear scales are from ISKRA and they are 5um and this is 0.005mm (the seller told me that they are 0.5Um and now I found out they are 5um)
Anyhow, I have to set two parameters one is in the section Mach3-Config-Motortunning-Steps per unit.

Ok I contacted the Support after a month of trying different calculations and numbers and the answer was:

If you use a scale then you take neither ratio nor screw pitch into account.
Your task is to indicate pulses number per 1mm and the scale will help you with it.

>>> The resolution of linear scales is: 5µm this is 0.005mm

It's very easy:

1mm / 0.005mm =  200 steps per

Ok and now what is the Encoder Pulses/Rev: ( mach3-config-config plugins-CSMIO motion controller configuration)

Does anybody know please help. ???

Best regards

Ok I have changed the servos and from Friday morning I am trying to tune the motors with no success. Now I am questioning my input data.
Please chek my calculations:

I am using Kinco servo motors and for feedback position linear scales. The resolution of the linear scale is 0.5µm if I convert it is 0.0005. To get the PPR  I divide the Lead of the screw wich is 5mm with the resolution. And the PPR is 10000.

Now if I want to calculate the steps/per I just divide the 10000/5mm and then i get Steps per=2000.

If I set this parameter into the Mac3 and start auto tuning it finished but as soon as I tried to move the axis I get e-pid fault and in case I change the max error to a larger number i get sudden movements by jogging.

The transmission between ball screw and motor is with gears.

Can anybody please help me? what am I doing wrong.

Best regards

Greetings,

i have been also working on my machine these past couple of months.  To sum up what i have done so far.
I have changed  the energy chain and the linear scales. Also i have painted the whole machine. Now i have changed the operators panel
and added an cabinet for the new drivers for servomotors. For now i will stick with the gear transmission between the motor and spindle.
Will add a movie of my progress as son as i find some time.
Also the tuning is going to be a pain in the A**.

Here is also my thanks for HOOD he has helped a lot ! Thank you !

Best regards

Greetings Davek 0974

Have you solved the problem? I have  some similar problesm with the asuto tuning. I have  new motors servo motors and drivers from kinco, also the linear scales are new  Iskra. I have tied the auto tune
but it simply does not work properly. I'm starting to lose faith in the csmio controller.

Before changing the motors i have used the original bosch driver and dc motors and i have managed to tune them porll. But there was another problem as soon as i pushed the button go to zero and after that stop
the machine started to go in some kind of a auto tune state.  I have contacted the spupport  and they have said i should send them the mach file. Now its about 4 months and still no answer.

So im a litle disapointed.

Best regards

Did it cost alot of money ?
How hard is to change the spindles ? Are you considering also to replace the Z?
Yes that would be great . Im waiting for the motors now.

Thank you for your help so far !

Where did you buy the spindles ?  Did you bought the spindles longer then they were in original ?
I have bought new motors and meanwhile im waiting for the motors im going to prepare everything for the belts.
