Mach4 General Discussion / Re: EMCO 6P CNC retrofit - M6 Issue
« on: June 11, 2020, 01:32:06 AM »
one advice i want give you ,very very important
you MUST think and give solution while M6 running ,if m6 stop in middle
because in mach if you press stop while m function run or its stop from any other reason ,its not stop at all the function
its only stop the movement
so for example if you stop before you release the tool  ,the machine not move any more ,but the tool will fall
SO you must give attention in any output activate to be sure what is the machine status bfore do something

Mach4 General Discussion / NIC vs. Onboard
« on: June 07, 2020, 01:37:15 PM »
i use pokeys in some machines
most all work perfect
one make me big head ace ,its can work all day then for one second while work "like" loose conection  for one second ,
some output activate by itself ,and the worth is that its lose position in that second
i add ground ,shields...
its maybi becoome bater but still can happeend
is there any other ide?
i use etherrnet ,if i add NIC insted of the onboard net work adapter ,is it can change something?
any other ide?
thanks

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Mach 4 and 5 Axis CNC
« on: May 27, 2020, 03:36:23 PM »
hi
i think pid to control sindle its have ,but as you mention i not use it
pokeys have large  output relay (i use 7 cards each have 8 reley)
also good point in pokeys ,he can customize (for example increase the connectors size to be normal, add dioda and resistor in each input
to limit 5v...like this in very fair price)
and he told me also he can add in near future ,second loop to mach card to confirm position, and next year Ethercat
thanks any way craig

Craig
when you say that"Arguably the Ethernet SmoothStepper (Warp9 TD) is the most complete (step/direction) Mach4 ready motion controller"
what is the advantage  compared to pokeys?

by the way ,we use 850w servo leadshine and there no any problem ,only we found that to get good accl dccl we need increase
the external brake resistor

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: M3 Probing error THC Pokeys
« on: May 26, 2020, 09:08:42 PM »
i use also pokeys for woodworking cnc ,we use alot with probe, only with G31
never have problem, only with travel limit,so we add in the begin of the M function of the tool hight detect, disable the software limit
and at the end of the m function enable

396
i didnt read the api about that function, but as i understand you need also set RPM i think

397
we cut aproxmaly this speed(10-15 m/min)and we change our accl dccl in mine pp
so g0 its about 300000  g1 its about 20000 (this the values i use in mc.mcMotorSetMaxAccel(   ))
we use big servo motor (850 w each side) so we dont have any problem with the motor ,we only have problem in some works (most  is "pocket" in MDF) that i think because i cant control the acc dccl s curve in mach ,i have not good surface finish
but in any case first how can i disable the new cv and use only the old cv(the new cv also have change my tool path in linear cut)
and second is there any difference in corner behiviour if i change the look ahead parameter?
thks

398
i  also do not need that cv
but when i have curve work that build from many small segment (its depened on cadcam software ,but many export only G1 not  G2 or G3)
then movment become not smooth and with shaking
so if you can have solution for the smoth then i real no need that cv and can work with exact move

399
is any coment? no one have problem with corner?its only in mine???very starnge
