actually i use this "trick" always ,because i use absolute encoder ,and this only way i can "homing"
BUT this work ONLY when press button,not on M function,not on Events ...nothing
but its must have some way do it automatic not manually....

hi bill
i try many options but cant change the machine x position in any way
this function that you use:
mc.mcAxisSetPos(inst, 0, PosSetX1)
not make any change on x value
not talk about:
mc.mcAxisHomeAll(   number mInst) ===>>> that do nothing
 also i try with modify the pound parameter:
local er =mc.mcCntlSetPoundVar(0, 5021, 100)====>>do nothing


several month ago i asked about this ,but not real help from mach side ,only suggest like use G52 ( sorry but its bad advice)

I didn't ask because i think you mistake with wiring,i asked because i have exactly same question months ago ,and after all i got answer that even its seem its simple option its not like this,its depends on the hardware plugin ,for example in pokeis you can only control analog output only by spindle comand ....

i have question about the way work with modbus
i can each  time i want data or send data open the com send then close the com
second way is establish the com then not close it until close much
first option have advantage that less problems with com fail and save computer time
but second option give me the advantage of listen of avent like error..
what do you think?

did you make M function and try run from Mdi or run directly G31 from Mdi?
i work with pokeys cnc 3 years many many machines alot with G31 not have any problem
