Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Spindle Speed Feedback and Accuracy
« on: September 17, 2017, 07:40:59 PM »
I would like True Accurate Speed because , some of the tools i use at HSM . 15 to 40 Rpm can be a make or break deal , especially with Large diameter tools ( facemills ) .

Mach4 General Discussion / Spindle Speed Feedback and Accuracy
« on: September 17, 2017, 01:59:24 PM »
Just got my other issues resolved ! Now on to the Spindle Speed .   Mach4 3481 and dspMC newest Pluggin.
When M3S1500 is commanded , My true Spindle Speed is 1530ish , I have Encoder feedback to Mach4 that is Dead On at the control screen. The VFD has an RPM Screen that Reads 1530ish.
and I verified the Spindle RPM with a Laser and it is dead on . Analog Control Voltage is 0-10dc . Doesnt Mach4 provide Feedback to control Spindle Speed? What am I doing Wrong

Reflashed the box to the new firmware version and it works great now!

I had to Reflash the box to a a new firmware version and it works great now!

My plugin was 112515. Are you saying that I need to Update the firmware on my box ? Or do I need to revert my Pluggin ? What about the newer features of the newest Plugin?
       Thanks

After Upgrading from Mach4 2480 to 3481 and Plugin 2.01.70 . Mach wont stay connected to the dspmc , Error says dspmc not found , then it will hook up for about 5 seconds and show it
in the History Line . It shuttles back and forth so fast you can see it read out.   Mach 2480 and old plugin were solid as a Rock!
I cant figure it out? Is it in Config or my Ethernet hardware?

That's what I have with my machine Steve , But the old fadal was strickly software limits . The old Numatix control used the scales for homing the machine cords.
Then the motor encoder for position and velocity feedback. Was a tricky deal. It would over travel and break hell out of everthing!
I want to combine the Switches for Home and Limit Switches for Safety . Just want a good quality accurate outcome.

The repeatability factor for homing this beast has to be with in .0001 tenths , I will eventually use the machine as a powersport block and head machine center . So should I use NO/ or NC/ . Snap or Slow ? Roller Lever or Roller plunger style .
I like both of the AD switches for the IP67. I will use the switches for both Homing and Over Travel . I will mount them under the massive table to help protect them . Will all so use 2
on the Z , to help with tool changer set up .

Thank You for the Reply , I was curious as to the repeatability as home switches for Mach 4
