As a Mac user. ( ok the windoze pc is only for the mach4 mill )

If you are using VMware or parallels you will run into trouble with windows with certain problems , the only way to run. Windows on a Mac is to use boot camp and install windows natively with no emulation the you get with the virtual machine

Note boot camp is a no cost option as it comes with the os only cost is the licence for windoze

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Mach4 Training Video Requests.

Thanks Jim

I am ok with the touch module for me it does what it say on the tin , maybe I am lucky but I do read the manuals many times learnt that along time ago before the Internet let alone Mach 3 or 4 was around

glad to see that you ( Artsoft ) have put up some revised post processors for the Mach series on the fusion 360 post web site so I do not have to alter the mach3 one , just a point on that the post is only for 3 axis and needs a couple of mods to enable the 4th 5th and 6th axis

I have altered mine copy to do the 4th axis

The other one is that in the safe setting startup line it needs a g0 else when you use the touch modual it leave the system in feed mode not g0

Getting to g28 is then a pain

Jim

Thanks for the link

But why do we need to send in a ticket to get documentation for the software we hold a licence for should this not be available in the manuals /documentation section of the site for all your uses to access as required

This will save you money because you will not have to spend time responding to requests like this

DTG

I tried o do this very same thing a while ago and failed/gave up on it

How about a 2min. Vidieo to educate us that struggle with this lua plc stuff

where should the code be inserted ?

Does it have to be done for each axis ?

But as you say a picture is worth a 1000 words

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: *** PROBING SCREEN ? ***

Yes I use the touch screen with success

But the probing screen is not so good but note I have not tried the new public version yet waiting for warp9td to get G31.x working as I have a toolsetter and a 3D probe

Not working here as well tried to calibrate Z , being a wimp I used a piece of 12 mm MDF light on screen tuned blue as it should when contact was made but it then rammed the probe tip through the MDF ( 3D probe not a touch plate )

As to the random direction same here put it down to the distance the tip was at the start , and maybe some unpurged data.

Have not had the courage to try the latest release . Probe tips are spendy

If your screws are a 1/10 inch out then they are junk

Mine are metric and work with the maths method set it up move 50m test with jo block and DTG spot on

As I said if the maths do not work something is wrong

I rest my case and shut up
