I am a died in the wood apple user but I have a Dell optiplex for the mill controller using ethernet


there is just to many shortcuts made to run windows on a Mac even in boot camp IMHO its not worth the hassle

as a comment the contrast on the new version is much better for viewing in the workshop


my only regret is the original industrial screen is no longer usable ( the one depicted on your website )

keep up the good work I know is almost impossible to satisfy everyone but that's life


one observation the use of arial font gives me a fuzzy effect but courier font produce a cleaner text/number

OK disclaimer : I am fully aware that these are development versions

as I am a curious person I downloaded the current highest version as I have a lic. for industrial I chose that flavour

by EKK did I look different checked the file name for the screen set It was the same as my current version? but a file size nearly twice the size


may I humbly ask that when the content of a screen set is altered so much that the file name be altered else if you just update the software AFAIK it will not overwrite the current version if you have kept the default name

I assume ( you know what that means )  that it would be the correct way to install a complete new version and make a new install using your current profile

BTW.  I humbly request can you recomend a stable version to run on , as warp9 recommends 4809 still a way off the current number

when you get the GUI sorted for the probing can you pretty please call in by a different name so it will not override the current version that would allow us to gracefully apply our customisations

beware of the wiring it may contain surprises

on my mill ( different manufacture to yours ) they had inserted 4.7kohm resistors into the wires in the loom to give some current limiting action took me a while to figure out why the wires did not test out as I expected , why they did it that way is beyond belief why not do it at the termination .

took me about a week to sort it all out the spindle was the worst as it wanted to go 100% before the ESS took control
mill spec 9 limits 4 axis and a spindle F and R .the real rub was no cable numbers and all the same colour and no wiring diagram.

but its a good job I worked on controls and heavy power when I was in work 24 years ago

sorry I do not have an answer with the arcs , yes I saw your post about the tool path window but as mine seems to work as I require it its difficult to comment

as I am only self taught with mach4 and all my info has been gained from poking about and trying things out I only stumbled on the line/box size by accident as I was in the same situation as you changed the font size nothing then I resized the box to be more pleasing and the text grew

its the same problem for most of the text boxes including the gcode/mdi window

try altering the number of lines
in the small text boxes alter the box size

have you edited the screen set ,and selected the tool path on the left drop down there is a selection box to show the soft limits , until that is done they will not show up

got to operator and select edit screen

caveat emptor make a copy of your current screen set before you alter any thing
