Steve
I have tried a number of the builds inc the latest all exhibit the same faults unable to update the DRO and as above very random results.

you say the hobby screen set would give the hobby style probing but the probing tab is not present in the hobby screens that I have looked at only the new probe set ,

the last build. of industrial still has the probe tab with the calibration / settings as well as the new probe set

thanks for the reply I can't give you the build no. at this time as I am not in the workshop but lounging on the settee.

as I have a few jobs to do I think I will hold fire until you release a new public build

don't bother guys/gals even with the correct values inserted into the ini file manually it don't work . sometimes it nearly works next probe nothing . next probe it ignores the feed rate and goes at at full rapid Z- lucky I was probing the calibration xy and the ring gauge has a hole below

I notice that this tab has been removed from the hobby version I wonder why?

I have a 3d probe ( shop made and yes it triggers the led )

problem is I cannot input any data into the DRO to set any setting they will not update ?

I have checked and they are set to "enable in place "

the probe will work to do the z cal but only if the tip is almost (.2mm) off the vice not ideal

any ideas

Mach4 General Discussion / diagnostic wizard
« on: September 20, 2022, 05:32:18 AM »
I have just had a look at your vidieo for the above , looks very nice indeed , I have used it in the dev releases

but ( there always is ) its very good to check a running machine , say to test out one or two inputs/outputs/registers etc but when you need to redo a profile the old GUI drop down is better to give a overhaul picture of the machine state when testing .

my very crude solution to this was to to deconstruct a older screen set to just have only the diagnostic panel and load this as required as in your new probe screen set .

as a compleatly different question what is the recommended monitor size/aspect ratio for mach4

keep up the good work
Stuart

g20/21 is found in the gcode from your CAM software

something in your pc is corrupting the setup files hence the licence changes you mention

and yes your English is 1000% better than my Korean

can you tell us what version of mach4 you are using the version on the download page has a few problems

with reference to your last post "the licence code flew away often happens "

that comment made me think that you have a pc system fault

please tel us your pc specifications
ie windows ver other software running

back to basics when you change any setting in the mach4 setting drop down or the mach4 plug in you MUST power your mill down and exit mach4 ( preferably then turn off the power to both )

you say the licence "flew away" please try to tell us what happens is this because of a system crash

now please do not take offence at this question but where did you get the licence for Mach4 from ? if it is not licensed correctly it will randomly shut down and not save its INI file correctly , it will run in sym mode but not when a motion controller is attached

Tonge firmly in cheek , I thought the USA used bananas for measuring at least that's what Kurtis at CEE thinks
anyway my thoughts on mach 4 setup and mach3 for that matter

1 what are the ball screws imperial or metric
2 if metric set the machine up in metric on the setup page the calls are easy
3 ditto for imperial

then use the Gcode 20/21 to tell mach4/3 how to interpret the code

my cnc mill has metric screws therefore its set up in metric ( as are the rest of my machines and my head )
I have do not have any problem with other people  Gcode I just hand code it to suit my setup

just seen your comment the machine DRO will always display the machine setup unit not the Gcode preference
