Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Mach4 PCID

So all I did was activate a new license, then deactivate the old. Does the deactivated still count towards the 5??
If so, these updates can go through 5 licenses easily!

Mach4 General Discussion / Mach4 PCID
« on: February 25, 2016, 07:13:36 PM »
Curious, what causes a change in the PCID??
Reason I'm asking is I used the machine, for a couple hours at least, last night and no problems.
I go to use it today, and Windows 10 (complete junk in my opinion) had to update. So I updated, restarted, continued with what I was working on. Mid cutting the machine just stops. I figured typical Mach4 B---S--t, so I restarted, and it did it again. This time I saw the message saying demo expired (not verbatim).
Didn't understand what was going on at this point, but sure enough, my PCID had changed. Only thing that could've done it was the updates. The pc is off all day until I turn the machine on.
So again, what constitutes a change in PCID??

Do you have soft limits enabled when doing this?
If so, disable it and try again.

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Can someone better explain probing setup?

From Artsoft support:

With your probe (or whatever you are using for one).....in the rub screen manually jog down to a reasonable height over the piece you wish to probe. you should set the Z to zero in the dro, as the probe move is an absolute move. Next click on the probing tab....enter in a value in the z position that you know will have the probe travel far enough to contact the work piece...If you zeroed the z this value should be a negative number. Next click on the measurement type so that the set fixture (G54) is lit up... this will inevitably set your z offset. Next you are ready to probe.. click the measure Z button.. this will start the probe cycle... When cycle is done the number that is put into your Z dro will be the absolute distance above the work piece you actually are...thus making the top of the part Z zero. You can double check this by jogging down to the top of the piece. Your DRO should be at Zero.

Do you have soft limits enabled?
If so, turn them off and try again. That was the cause of my "constant contact" problems... among many others. Hell, my limit switches domn't even work with soft limits enabled. Unreal!

I can give you the corner tree, it's provided free from here: http://img1.123freevectors.com/wp-content/uploads/new/nature/246-free-vector-tree-with-birds.png
But the others are not. Sorry.
These are direct conversions from that image, you may want to touch up the birds a bit to make them clearer. I don't have the "finals" that I made accessible now so these will have to do. Not much work needed and you can cut them "as is" just the same too.
I have this split into the 4 panels I cut, you can further split them horizontally to fit your bed.

Try your hand at multiple colors too.

Not bad but I assume it's very limited. Do you have a way of "feeding" the vinyl or is it just what you can fit on the bed?
IOW, can you cut an 8' piece?
I did this in 4 panels.

Check out SuperPID.

Other ways to do it if you just want on and off, as in using a relay, but why not go for RPM control too!
