General Mach Discussion / Re: Superpid and PC 7518
« on: April 19, 2016, 03:42:22 PM »
I don't think you have to set it to the actual max, like I said, my last router was max'd at 27.5k but setting the SuperPId to 300 min and 30300 max gave me an actual rpm within 300 of what I set it to.
That's why I'm asking if there's any definitive formula to set it.

So if you do a M3 s12000, what reading does the superPID show? then try s15000, check reading. and so on.

LerninCNC, no , the sensor is fine. I can go from one bar to full-3 bars.

ger, that's what I'm asking for.

I had an older porter cable for quite a while and used 300 - 30300 and the rpm was pretty darn close all the way to 21k.
I'm trying to find the "sweet spot" for the 7518 but, as I said, if I do a S1000, it's right there. Do an S12000 and I'm taching in the 15k range already. And the higher I go the more out of whack it gets.
Is there an actual formula for setting the spindle rpm for the SuperPISD (probably should be asking Roman but figured someone on here is probably using the same setup.).

Not sure whats going on with my CNC.
when setting up motor tuning i have the motors running grate, when jogging it jogs grate.
when i run a program the G01 is fine i can control the feed rate fine. But G00 no madder
what i do the motors loss steps sound like the motors are over accelerating I've tried changing
setting in motor tuning 100 time. at this point i'm lost

Please help.

Did you try jogging at 100% speed? That would be the same as a G00. Sounds like you have the velocity set too high.

Anyone using a Porter Cable 7518 with a SuperPID?
I can't get a decent RPM sync. I can lock in 10k, but then by the time I "S13000" it's hitting 15k already.
What spindle speeds are being used?

If you jog the z in the positive (Z+) direction, which way does the machine move, up or down?

You know, Id have to say that Im not sure science has yet perfected any means of measuring a value so small
as the thinness of your skin. My responce was a small touch of humour in a humourless world. I failed to understand
the earth shattering importance of your query, which seemed much more an attempt, as a very similar question posted
only a few months back, to suggest some sort of instability of a company.
This, of course, Im sure was not your intent, just as the premise of your "current state of your product" statement which
followed. But your entirely correct of course, the sad state of Mach, currently used by  hundreds of thousands of people
in over 170 countries as well as its ubiquity among topics in all areas of CNC speaks volumes as to my horrible attitude and
the rather poor way Ive treated people over time. All I can do for my part is beg forgiveness, slink to my corner
and seek absolution from an unforgiving world.
Your answer, and I again apologize for any earlier attempts at humour, is NO. I hope the simple brevity
of this answer makes up for any slights... I fear I have damaged forever our relationship.. Ill go now...NO!, dont answer,
dont look back.. its simply too painfull. Im gone now.. its as if I was never here...

Was that really so hard to do??
I don'ty know anything of an earlier post and for you to think that everyone on here knows of every post is a little (being nice here) ridiculous.
And believe me, my skin is just fine.

>>I'm sure this is funny to someone...

I doubt that very much. It sounds like the twisted ravings of a mental patient
to me.

>>So are you the Art in Artsoft?

Well, I guess that begs the philosophical question..what IS Art, really? Yes, I guess
one could say I invented the term ArtSoft, but as to if I'm actually the "Art" in ArtSoft, Id
have to think from an existential point of view that would be whomever is currently responsible
for the artistic expression within that organization. I'm long retarded...sorry, retired, and
my comments should reflect on none other than myself.  The last thing Id desire is to cast
aspersions on any particular rhesus out there. Most I know, are well connected...

:)

Art

So should you really even be responding here then??
I mean, sure it's funny to make jokes but if someone asks a question about the state of a company he invested money in.... Is it really something to make fun of? How about just answering the question? And if you can't, then why respond?
If it were your company, I'd say that goes a long way in explaining the current state of your product.

Hi:

Sure, but that's not the entire rumor, from what I hear...

Mach4 was sold to the Trump corporation for 7.6 million dollars, it was then repackaged as a
derivative product and subdivided into lots of 100 units each for transport over the Caucasian mountains
in baskets carried by rhesus monkeys. Upon arrival each unit was boiled in a sauce made from the
sweat of muskrats forced to build slave pits in the blazing sun. The wife of one of those Muskrats
was once thought to be the cousin of a guy somewhere, but that's not important.  What one needs to focus
on is the relative ease with which a local company managed to find some guys cousin who claims to
own all 100 shares each contained in a basket. From which, one can only deduce with perfect logic, that this
rumour was created by a basket case. :)

Art

I'm sure this is funny to someone...

So are you the Art in Artsoft?

General Mach Discussion / Artsoft sold??

Can someone correct this for me?
There's a story going around that says Mach4 was sold to a "local company".
Don't know what that means but it doesn't sound right. I would think Artsoft would need to be sold, not Mach4, but it does bring up some reasons as to why Mach4 is so absolutely screwed up.
So, is there any truth to this "rumor"?
