Found the screen set below. Looks cool.

Louie - just to be double sure. The absolute is the distance from the machine 0 and the incremental is from the current location of the head on the table?

Also, the way I am reading it is that the script for absolute is to move the X axis. If I want to make another DRO for the Y axis I replace "X" with "Y" in the script. Is that correct?

Thanks for this - it will make my life much easier.

Finally, where do I find the Blackout Screenset? I would like to take a look.

Louie - No problem with the free use of the idea. I like having people innovate around M4. It can only help all of us!

I intend to use this to move the head out of the way when I load work pieces and to move it to fixed fixturing locations on the table (I have a 7'X10' table it takes a good deal of time to move the head around when loading different size pieces. It will be great to say move X=48 to load the pieces. I also like to park the head for different functions (change tool, etc). Often it depends on where I will be working around the table.

My name is Peter and Pedio is an derivative of Fabio. When I was at career day at High School the guidance councilor never even mentioned the career choice of "Romance Novel Cover Model". I would have soooooooo gone for that one!  (It is even funnier if you meet me in person)

Is the code posted above ready for test by newbies like me?

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Move buttons on the Jog tab

I still can't edit the screen directly. When I click in the Jog window it jumps back to the operations on the left side.

The manual editing worked!    ;D

Thanks Patton. If you can get me your address I will send you a round TUIT. You can use these to get all of your objectionable projects done. The help is appreciated.

Mach4 General Discussion / Move buttons on the Jog tab
« on: June 29, 2015, 02:03:58 PM »
I have been playing with the UI and I must say it is COOL!

My question is how do I move buttons on the Jog tab? I can change them on the main tab but when I try to change them on the Jog tab it thinks I am editing the entire Jog window. Sorry if this is a newby questions. If someone can point me at a "Dummies" guide for programming Mach4 I promise I will read it (comprehending may be another issue)

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Tool lenght setting

I am using a removable touch plate. I was hoping that someone had already written the code and could share it. I plan to put the touch plate under the current position of the bit and hit the button.

Mach4 General Discussion / Tool lenght setting

Please forgive me if this is a dumb question...

I would like to know how to set up a simple automatic touch tool length setter. I have a block that will record when it is touched. I need to know how to program Mach 4 to automatically set the height when I select the button.

 :-\
any help to a novice with Mach 4 would be appreciated
Peter

Mach4 Toolbox / Re: Simple button script to rapid to a know position.

I am new to all of this so please forgive me if I am asking a silly question. Is it possible to enter coordinates into the boxes on the screen and have the machine go to those coordinates? e.g., in the X box if I enter 20 it goes to 20" (on my machine) from the X=0 position. This would make it very easy to navigate to remote work pieces.
I know I can use the MDI but that has a lot of screen changing for something that happens often.

This is a wierd request - Is it possible to make the screen behind the tool path transparent? I would like to put a camera window behind the tool path window so I can position my work piece where the tool path will be. I know this is probably a lot more complex than I think.

I am in Jacksonville Fl and have a 8'X10' routermaster. I am upgrading it from a DeskCNC to a Mach 4 machine.

I have a PMDX 410 driving a PMDX 132 (from my former set up) with gecko drivers.

I have got it joging around the table and it seems to be much smoother than DeskCNC. I ran the first script (in the air) and it seemed to work well.

Estop works, however, it is a little unexpected that the machine starts going again when the Estop button is released. I would think that I should have to reset the machine to get it to move again. I will have to get use to this.

Can't seem to get keyboard inputs button to toggle. I have not received my license code from PMDX yet so it may be disabled in demo mode. Working on getting the machine to home to the switches. I keep getting "Unexpected homing request while Mach 4 is disabled, ignoring."  - Hmmmmmm
