Hi,
I feel like an idiot, but I think I found what was the problem (a few hours after posting this topic - there must be some corollary to Murphy's law that says you'll
discover the solution to a problem soon after asking someone else about it). I was going through the screens yet again and noticed that "tangential approach mode"
was active. Not knowing what it was, I had left it alone previously, but this seemed to be causing the effect. The lift distance was set to 1 unit, and when
I disable it, the strange behaviour went away. I think I understand why it's doing it, if the purpose is to realign a cutting knife or similar.
Cheers,
Lindsay
