BobCad claims they will supply a post free of charge for any CNC software, might try them first.

General Mach Discussion / Re: RC2.0c rewriting XML file

jerinat, what is your post supposed to mean???
the problem is that the Mach3Mill.xml is the default that mach writes when you install, not the old one that was customized before updating.

General Mach Discussion / loading screen sets

The instructions for loading screensets says " To use, select layout/load screenset and select the name of the set you downloaded."
where is the layout/load option in mach3?

General Mach Discussion / Re: Post Processor for Mach3/Mach2
« on: November 21, 2006, 11:31:34 PM »
keep in mind the post processor is FOR Mach 3 not FROM Mach 3.
the post processor is FROM BobCad to write the gcode in the form that Mach 2/3 will understand.

if you can get Mach 3 configured with the same ports and pins setup as the Mach 2 that your using you should be able to use the G code produced by using the Mach 3 post processor with bobcad.
Art or Hood may be able to help with the ports and pins from Mach 2 - I am not familiar with how they are set up in Mach 2.
I think Hood gave a good way to do it in an earlier entry.

It sounds like there is some confusion of terms here.
the .XML file in Mach 3 is the configuration of the machine controller.
the post processor is the translator from the cam pkg
(BobCad) to the machine controller (Mach 3)
BobCad has a post processor for Mach 3 if that is the control software you are running your "CNC SHARK" with.

Chris,
same problem.
I feel sorry for Brian and Art, every time they fix one problem another creeps in, it must be frustrating , I would not have the patience , they are doing a fantastic job.
I hope they don't get discouraged
