Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Just a Little bit bigger :)

http://help.autodesk.com/view/fusion360/ENU/?guid=GUID89C78618-20FD-4A82-BFB4-BC66AFE417DD  Here's a link for cutting com in fusion the one I think I would use is the wear that lets you program the size tool you are using and then you can change it if it's not right.  I also think there is a NYC cnc YouTube video on this topic

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Rename A axis to U axis?

I know we use U's and W's on our haas lathe so I did a quick look and m4 lathe manual and it has info for that on page 4 but it's not what you are wanting to see but it's there

Just to let you know you may have to use G93 Inverse Time for the feed rate to come out right with angular movements we have to use it on our 5 axis water jet we are still on Mach3 but I would think its the same with m4

Mach4 General Discussion / Re: arcs with a linear and rotational axis

I don't think you can do arc codes (j, I) unless you use an x and or y letters.  Also there is a software called cncwrapper that will maybe do what you want.

Screen designer tips and tutorials / Re: CNC Flame Cutting Machine

Yes the best way is a cam software we use Sigmanest for our home built 5 axis water jet.  The big things is needing to use inverse time to get the feeds to work and 3 years until Sigmanest to add that to their software

Have you had any luck on this.  We have a peirce delay on our screen that we bought from machmotion. What kind of setup do you have for your bevel cutting?

This maybe how it works and should help you program it

G28.1 Reference Axis
Program G28.1 X~ Y~ Z~ A~ B~ C~ to reference the given axes. The axes will move at the current feed rate towards the home switch(es), as defined by the Configuration. When the absolute machine coordinate reaches the value given by an axis word then the feed rate is set to that defined by Configure>Config Referencing. Provided the current absolute position is approximately correct, then this will give a soft stop onto the reference switch(es).

I found this on machmotions website not sure if this will help you.  This was for mach3 but I would think mach4 will also do this but not sure if they have it working yet I have not tried

http://magicmicro.com here is a place that I have bought my last three computers and has all turned out great and the best thing is that you can still get windows 7 pre-installed if you want. I have two of what they call a cube and it's very light and is portable and even has a carry handle

General Mach Discussion / Re: 4 Axis Waterjet Cutting In Mach3
« on: November 03, 2014, 09:00:41 PM »
Hi Nick
Was just wanting to know if you figure out your issue we built a 5 axis water jet and we also have sigmanest we now have everything working nicely our head design keeps the nozzle at the same height as it tilts and we also can up with a THC for it to.  I can post pics if you need help yet on that
