Just want to watch this thread.  I tried to do this when Mach4 was just a tiny baby and I didn't know anything about LUA  HAHA

Here is the Mach4 Post that outputs G10 D & H Values.
***The H Value is for the Length Below Holder. ***
If you need it changed to overall length let me know.
Flute Length seems to be the same as length below holder; maybe there is a bug inside Fusion for this variable.

I've got this working for the tool length.  I just need to know what length you're looking for.

Overall length, length below holder, flute length… ?

Joe,
I’ll work on this tomorrow. I’ve got to add a variable for the length or height.
What tool length do you need from fusion?  Overall length, length below holder, flute length… ?

Yes, the post that uses g10 can output d and h. I have it set only to d right now but I can edit the post processor again to output h. Would you like me to do that and post it here?

Joe,
What are you looking to add to Mach4's tool table?  Length, Diameter, Wear, etc...?
I made a post for Fusion360 that uses  G10L1 to output the tool's diameter into Mach4.  ]
It uses Fusion's tool information.  I want to use it for the diameter mainly, so it uses the tool's diameter from Fusion to put the D information in the G10L1 line.

What do you mean by

when I restart the run it starts just fine until it clears
If you feedhold and then that stops your machining process entirely.
If you feedhold the machine for a period of time and hit cycle start again, what exactly happens?
I don't think I've ever had an issue like this.
I have jobs that will wait on toolchanges over night and I come in the next day and change the tool with no issues.
I've hit feedhold on a machine before and went to help other people in the shop to come back and hit cycle start again with no issues.

Yup, that could be it.  Like I said, it could be a version issue.  I haven't installed a new version of Mach4 on a mill in well over a year.  No need to if they're all running fine.

I suppose that’s what you’ll have to use for G31.1 the 5073.
Also, the manual on the website isn’t correct. I just checked.
You’ll need to look in your mach4 directory under docs.
It has a current programming manual.

Kenny,
Artsoft added a lot of variables to the programming manuals as well.
