Mach4 General Discussion / Re: Version 2803 Problems
« on: December 30, 2015, 02:00:52 AM »
Hey, i have a new question:
If i push "REF X" for example, nothing happens.
The only thing is, the LED right the button changes from red to green.
Is there a script mandatory or have forgotten to configure something?

best regards,
Gerhard

Both boards are configured to have "Charge Pump".
In the manual of the breakout board is written that on pin 16 a signal with 2,2 kHz is requiered.
Topical i have no plan. Everyone tells me something different.

Thank you for your answer.

If i understand you in a right way, then there is no need to use "Charge Pump".
I can assign "everything" to 1|16 and 2|16 in my case.
I thought the same, and said: Well, there is a possibility to use "Enable 1" and "Enable 2" .
"Enable 1" and "Enable 2" make more sense, because this tells me Board 1 and Board 2 should be enabled.

But assigning "Enable" to the pins 1 need will not work also.

You know what i mean?

Mach4 General Discussion / Mach4 - ESS - Charge Pump confusion
« on: December 28, 2015, 01:41:11 PM »
Hello,

i use Mach3 since more than 4 Years, everything fine.
I try to use Mach4 since 2 Years, confusion...

Well, the main thing is i use two breakout boards with the ESS.

My router has 5 Motors, and one HF-Spindle.
I use the motors like shown:

Motor 0 = X(1)     -> Board 1
Motor 1 = Y       -> Board 1
Motor 2 = Z       -> Board 1
Motor 3 = X(2) -> Board 1

Motor 4 = A      -> Board 2
Motor 5 = C (Tool Changer) -> Board 2

In Mach3 i configured my system like follows:

I use "Charge Pump Signal" because if i do not i have trouble.
What is the trouble?
Well, testing without "Charge Pump" looked like this:
After powering up the machine the relays on the board were on (enable).
That causes that the valve for coolant began to run.
The valve for opening the tool-changer opened.
After activating the Software on the PC all Output switched in normal position.

If i use "Charge Pump" i do not have this problem.

So now begins the confusion:
In Mach4, depending on the screen you have the possibility to use "Charge Pump" or not.
If you create a new, own screen, the place where "Charge Pump" is, is named "Reserved 1" and "Reserved 2"
If you use an existing screen, there is "Charge Pump".

The second thing is, in the ESS-Configuration there is only one "Charge Pump" available.
There is no way to get a second one.

If i configure the ESS and assign the "Charge Pump" to 1|16 i can enable one board.
I can move the axis, but here is the next problem....Axis with slave will crash mach4, so i tried out without slave.

The question is, why are there MACH4 profiles with "Charge Pump" and why not?
The next question is, why is in ESS-Configuration only one "Charge Pump"?

Clear, only what in ESS-Configuration is assigned first can be used in MACH4 Output/Input.

I also tried out:
Manual editing the "Machine.ini"
Assigning the 1|16 also to 2|16, but that will not work.

I saw this here also: http://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php/topic,30635.0.html

In Germany we say: "Good wheel is expensive now"... probably you have an similar thing for this  ;D ;D ;D

best regards,

Gerhard

I just checked out:

Create a new profile in Mach4.
After Starting the new profile, select "Configure" - "Plugins" and activate ""imulator - Newfragled Solutions"
Restart Mach4 with the new profile.
Select "Configure", "Mach", "Outputs" scroll complete to the end.
Number 10 and 11 form behind counted is "Reserverd 1" and "Reserverd 2"

Close Mach4

Startup Mach4 with an existing profile.
Select "Configure", "Mach", "Outputs" scroll complete to the end.
Number 10 and 11 form behind counted is "Charge Pump #1" and "Charge Pump #2"

 ??? ??? ??? ???
Confused about that!

After several Problems is deinstalled Mach4. I made a new installation auf Mach4.
Everything is the same, nothing changed.
Now i'm wondering why it is like this:

PC-ID Windows 8 MCH-70CCD9F3-EF5B-D479-496-BB78D25434
PC-ID Windows 10 MCH-81BE6B21-0B00-DE7C-8E64-609E0B6BB2F8   --> ID after Update

PC-ID Windows 10 MCH-70CCD9F3-EF5B-D479-0496-BB78D2054304   --> ID after reinstalled Mach4
The PC-ID is the same like bevore!

I do not unterstand this, but i don't care about. ;D ;D

I use ESS to communicate with my two breakout boards.

When Mach4 ist started and i use other programms i have some trouble.
The keys assigned to Mach4 can't be used in other programms.

I was running Mach4, lisenced, on Windows 8.1 (x64) Enterprise. Everything was fine.

I updated the operating system to Windows 10 (x64) Enterprise and now the lisence is not longer valid.

After checking in Mach4, Help -> About, i saw that a new PC-ID was created.

PC-ID Windows 8 MCH-70CCD9F3-EF5B-D479-496-BB78D25434
PC-ID Windows 10 MCH-81BE6B21-0B00-DE7C-8E64-609E0B6BB2F8

Don't know why but it is so.

Best regards,
Gerhard
