General Mach Discussion / Mach3 stepper motors running at super slow speed
« on: February 05, 2015, 10:16:46 AM »
I have two JIGs which I run with two similar spec laptops. One laptop is slightly faster than the other, however whichever JIG the slightly slower laptop runs is incredibly slow, even when velocity and acceleration are turned up to stupid amounts. All the settings are the same on both laptops, does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

Laptops have around 1gb of RAM, dual 2GHz processors, and fresh wipe and install of XP

General Mach Discussion / Getting Mach3 to start/stop on system clock
« on: November 26, 2014, 02:53:41 AM »
I have a series of mechanical tests that need to be run inside a test chamber after every cycle. I would like to do this automatically but I will like it to start/stop based on the computer clock rather than a delay set by G-code, is this possible?

Many thanks

General Mach Discussion / Computer running Mach3 turns itself off
« on: August 29, 2014, 03:46:17 AM »
I am running a simple Mach3 program on a capable PC, but after 1 or 2 hours into the program the computer turns itself off. Its not a power issue or a power settings issue, and it shuts down at different points of the program every time. The program is a 10000 cycles of back and forth between the same sets of co-ordinates. Can anyone help me?

General Mach Discussion / Simple subroutine 'too many nests'
« on: August 05, 2014, 07:55:23 AM »
I have a really simple X Y set-up, but when I try and run a simple subroutine 1000 cycles or more it tries to create the tool path and an error message comes up telling me there are 'too many nests'.

Is there another way to run this simple program on repeat? or to get around this error message? I need to be able to leave it on for 500,000 cycles or inifinity

General Mach Discussion / Help with input signals please
« on: July 09, 2014, 03:05:19 AM »
Hi, I have set up a simple X Y  table to life test some joysticks, but I can't get the software to recognise the inputs from the switches. I have checked the switches with a voltmeter and they seem to be working fine.

I have two limits switches wired in parallel and a home switch on each axis. I set the pin to 10 and the port to 1, tick active Low but Mach3 won't recognise any signal when the switches are triggered.

The stepper motors work fine, I can run simple G code programs without any problems, but curiously when I try to jog the thing it pretty much crashes the PC.

I am using:

Any help would be much appreciated!
