I have a pre-monday (monday is when I get back to the shop) question. I have Mach2 and Mach3 installed, mach3 was the last program installed. I noticed in some reading here that Mach2 and mach3 will not share the same system. is this share as in both run at the same time or both being installed?

Yes I have them set to port 1. as I understand it port 0 doesnt exist.

In Mach2 I can jog and run files. in Mach3 I get nothing. when I try to jog only the drm is showing movement but no gantry movement. I downloaded the support movies and tried the stuff there. no limit switches yet I hope to get them added soon.

Hello Guys, if this is in the wrong place please feel free to move it. I purchased a home brew router a month ago and saw it work before getting it. the guy who had it was running mach1. he gave me a print out of what I needed to do to get it running in Mach1, but Mach1 is no more I downloaded Both Mach2 and 3 and was able to figure out how to get it working with Mach2 (the directions he gave looked more like mach2 than 3) anyway after watching the videos onsite here I was sure I could set it up. NOPE no workie. I did print screens of both setups from "configure ports and pins" with my Mach2 and Mach3 settings. could someone pleaselook at them and tell me what I did wrong?

I just got off the phone with Chris.(the person who gave me that box) says he has a box that would almost be perfect to house the power supply if I wanted to find a way to connect the cabinets. yep Brett, I know that person who you were talking about, he might make one out of lexan if this other box looks to rough to use.

Yea brett I would like this to be bigger. in this case I saw the box sitting there and had an idea and figured I could shoe horn everything in it. I think my only issue would be fitting the power supply in. if I can take it apart and re-arrange it then it will work but if not I will prolly look around for another sometime. but bottom line is it wont stop me from moving forward

What workshop? thenks on the coments on the cases, it was a dream of mine to do and been doing it for a few years now and loving it.

more pics.
I sand blasted the cabinet but didnt take pics of that. sand blasting puts me in a bad mood.

the cd and hard drive are just set in there until I get my lcd picked back up to see where it needs to be mounted.
I also need to rethink a little on the power supply that came with the router, it looks salvaged from something else (nothing wrong with that it just makes putting it somewhere else hard since it is just so darned long)

After seeing this http://www.artsoftcontrols.com/forum/index.php?topic=2994.0 I have been inspired to do something for my router. so far it is only the cabinet I found at a friends house. he gave it to me and I hope to clean up my mess some. here are a few pics of it pre birth.











well I will go in in the morning sand blast and paint the box, and in the next few days I will paint and move the controls and pc into this box. I just need the connectors that is all I am lacking in parts.

What I am looking for is someone in SC, basicaly from Charlotte to Agusta Who would help me set up a small hobby router I purchased off of ebay. for Mach3 and give me a little help with 3d design. I work @ www.c3case.com and use Casmate for my design right now (casemate is 2d only) I have been using it for 10+ yrs now. I have little understanding of 3d software, I have used sketchup put I am not profeccient with it I am able to use it though. I am willing to pay for someone to help me with a little first hand 3d modeling for use on my router, and help setting the unit up. I have 10+ yrs experiance in fabrication (mostly acrylic) but most all aspects of the sign industry. I would be willing to offer some of my knowlege if it is needed or wanted. the progams used will be Mach3 and what ever design program you are using (hopefully it wont break my bank
my router is small 16x24 table and I would be willing to travel to anywhere between charlotte NC and Agusta GA to get some training.
