CS-Lab / G31 Probe
« on: September 06, 2020, 05:01:13 PM »
Need help.
Mach3 Version  3.043.062
CSMIO/IP-S
DMM DYN2 Servo

Machine runs fine and has for years. Wanted to do some Straight Probe to measure.
The G Code

G1G31Z-3.2F25.
G1G91Z.1F25.
G1G90G31Z-3.2F5.
G1G90Z0F50.
M30

In Single Block it feeds down in Z in first block until it trips Probe Switch.
Z Stops and displays Probe Hit OK
I hit Start and I get an e-Pid error.
Sometimes no movement at all and sometimes the Z will jerk up and fault.
With version 3.043.062 the Run LED stays on always.

So I switch to Version 3.043.044 That version is recommended by CS Labs for use with the CSMIO/IP-S
Got it all set up and running using same settings.
Loaded the above program, turned on single block just to make sure all my setting are good. Hit Start and executed
Each line one at a time and all worked. I’m happy thinking I got this. Turn single block off and hit Start.
Z moves until Probe switch is hit and e-Pid fault again.
The only difference I can see between Mach3 V .044 and .062 is in .044 the Run LED turns off when stepping through the program in single block.

So I started the machine back up using Mach3 V .062 and it faults in single block unlike V .044

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

CS-Lab / Feed Overide and Ffed Hold slow to respond

I'm using Mach3 V.062 and CSMIO/IP-S
Feed Overide and Feed Hold seem to wait until the end of the block to slow or stop motion. The Stop button works immediately.

General Mach Discussion / Robot part loader for CNC Lathe
« on: October 24, 2016, 10:14:29 PM »
Loader for CNC Lathe. Should I go Mach 3 or 4. Servo or Stepper. What for the PC and OS. I need about 30 to 40 I/O. It has to be robust to run 12 hours a day. Change the part every 2 minutes or less and run in a big shop 50 plus CNCs in shop temps from 40 to 115 degrees. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Chris

CS-Lab / CSMIO I/O both Sink and Source
« on: May 08, 2014, 12:07:44 PM »
I believe the I/O can be used in both Sink and Source depending on how you wire. In the example (see attached pic) it shows both a NPN and PNP proximity switch being used. It's all about how you hook up the output. I believe the same could be done with a limit switch as well. You either hook the switch into the + or - side of the input. That is why each input has both connections. Hood correct me if I'm wrong.

Show"N"Tell ( Your Machines) / Acroloc with Fanuc 6MB to Mach3
« on: May 08, 2014, 10:14:28 AM »
The project:
Acroloc  Machine with 12 tool ATC and Fanuc 6MB.  I have been playing with Mach3 and have purchased a PoKeys 56U and have made some prototype operator panels and have tested using the PoKeys.
The Yellow cap analog DC Fanuc servos are in good working order so I want to keep those. The Fanuc still runs but 16K of memory is a killer and max feeds are slow when doing engraving. So I’m trying to decide on the following.

KFLOP with KANALOG  Analog servo plenty of I/O  Not a lot of posts so how good is support?
                                                           Or
Vital Systems DSPMC   Analog servo but would also need from CNC4PC  ( M27, M28 & M29) for I/O   Lots of posts and good support?
                                                           Or
CS-Labs CSMIO-A    Analog servo plenty of I/O  Lots of posts but from overseas so how is support?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Attached Pics  are the machine as it is now..

General Mach Discussion / Relative Position DROs
« on: April 27, 2014, 04:36:28 PM »
I'm a newbie to posting so I hope I didn't post this twice.
For anyone who may be interested I have created a Relative DRO that you can set any axis to 0 yet it doe's not affect any other DRO. It is generally used as a Position Display you can zero out if you are cutting your fixture or some other Jog or MDI type move that doe's not affect you Work Offsets. Just to keep track of a temporary zero point.
